    Fantastic pics!

I headed off towards Frankfort, KY, and decided this might be an interesting stop...

    PXL_20250403_155044708.jpg

Next available tour was 2 hours away, so I just hit the very large gift shop and grabbed a couple bottles, a t-shirt and, of course, stickers.

I had my mind set on finding a campsite somewhere, thinking south of Indianapolis must be dryer than what we came from. Nope! Rain all the way and more forecast all night. Camping was out. I made my way northwest along 135 through some great little towns on winding hilly roads. At lower elevations the storm damage was significant. Trees down, freshly cut and moved aside, washout mud and leaves all over the roads and even a couple water crossings that weren't there a day or two ago.

I found my way to a Holiday Inn Express in Martinsville (which I assume was founded by @wi_taco 's ancestors) and got a room. I'm exhausted, but looking forward to a shower and a drink!

Fun fact I learned just this year: part of my family does indeed come from Kentucky. Hazard County in fact just like them Duke boys, not even joking. Apparently the fairy tale I was told is that they owned a coal mine around them parts and had to sell it out to some big company or whatever. Never told any of us because of NDAs or something. I don’t know any living family from those parts, pretty sure they all migrated to Wisconsin and settled Florence County and became lumberjacks.

That's some interesting family history for sure. We did spot one General Lee down there. Not on the trails and not jumping a creek though.

I'm not sure when you guys are coming back but, if the Jim Beam distillery is not too far out of the way, there is a fantastic restaurant called The Kitchen Table on its campus. Highly recommend - the brisket with grits is excellent.

They bailed on the trip, sounds like Dave is already home, Dean is in a hotel, Brian is on road, & Pat & Pickles are lost in a mine somewhere, Jon & Rich are somewhere unkown.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Good thing I came home...my truck's broke. That 2wd-4wd error I got Wed coming off the last trail? When I got home, I swung by the ball diamonds to try 4wd in the gravel. I'm now stuck in 4 Lo. Made it to my driveway. Sh$t!

That's what you get playing jokes on people's emotions.

Just kidding hope you get it fixed...Unless this is another prank in which case I hope you step on a Lego.
