Toyota sends dealerships cars according to past sales history. It’s not like other car
Companies like bmw where you can walk in and build a car how you want as long as the dealership as allocations. So if a dealership in your town didn’t sell a certain speced or packaged options very well then they don’t send that particular trim or level of trim to that dealership as much. That is my
Understanding from numerous dealerships I’ve spoken with when I was trying to find my perfect truck.

    I'm in southeast PA.

I'm also curious as to what effects the automotive tariffs will have on pricing. It's hard to imagine Toyota raising the price of the Gen 4 any more than it already is, regardless of the reason.

Compare CA pricing to USA pricing. Why does CA pay less? Why do they charge a lot more for a TH? Seems like Toyota has a lot of wiggle room in pricing and could absorb all or most of the tariffs.

    Washed up the Tacos!

I love my 4th gen 2025 Princess but I must admit that my 2021 3rd gen is the Queen!

The 4th gen is leaps and bounds better, more tech, more capable than the 3rd gen. Toyota’s justification for increasing the prices is valid. If consumers don’t want to pay this then they can always get the very base trim and call it a day or stick with the previous gen.

My 2025 Tacoma’s build date was moved up. It’s been built and has already made it from Mexico to San Diego and is now sitting in Bensonville Illinois. 100 miles away. I wonder how long it takes to get to my dealer.

That’s a big no. Toyota will never do that. I found it on my salesman’s computer screen 16 miles away. He said the build date was April 21 but for some unknown reason it was bumped up. I gave dealer a $500 check to hold it.

    What did you/the dealer order?

I did not order it. I don’t even know if the dealer ordered it. I was there test driving a 24 Taco Extra Cab and by the time my 27 mile test drive was over they sold it on the internet! I was pretty bummed but the salesman turned his screen so I could see what they had coming in. I spotted an SR Double Cab 5 foot box rear wheel drive only and wrote a $500 deposit check on the spot.

Dealers don’t order Toyota cars. Toyota sends them cars that they think will sell well in their region based on history. Best thing to do to find your truck is go on Toyota website plug in your build (not that many configuration) and broaden your search about 250 miles radius or however long you are willing to drive or fly out to.

My truck I put a deposit on arrived into NY port March 14 and it was delivered to the dealer I purchased from in PA about 150 miles away by Wednesday next week.

In late November I told the dealer I wanted a 2025 Pro in Underground with Red interior and no options. I got a January build date and on March 11 I got exactly what I "ordered". When the VIN was issued, the sticker showed it with all the options I wanted (none) and the dealer's name. Kinda seems like the dealer ordered it.

Or the allocation was coincidental to your liking. tacomas don’t have that many packages. I found mine with very minimal port installed options. Just a sprayed in bed liner and the rear Tacoma decals. You can definitely call all the Toyota dealers in your area like I did to see if they can custom order. I’m from the bmw world where owners can order exactly to their specifications and options. I assume the same with Toyota but it’s not the case.

Maybe because my "order" was just before the start of the new year builds/when allocation requests are due, I lucked out.

Someone in here mentioned that there was supposed to be a press release regarding the 2026 this week. Did anything happen?

Or, was that an April Fool's post?

Probably April Fools I doubt anything will changes outside the exclusive Pro color maybe some additional options pop up or disappear but that's probably more supplier related for option changes. I probably said before I saw at least two Prerunners that had the upgrade pkg listed on the allocation but the trucks did not have the pkg. I saw something about Toyota absorbing some tariff costs.

April fools. 2025 press release was 12/17/24. I would not count on 2026 until September - December of this year.

Toyota fleet site shows MY25 ordering through July 10. Around end of June would be my guess for MY26.

I thought late August was usually the MY transition point.
