Gen 4 aftermarket shocks

Wondering who is manufacturing these units.

Impressions so far?

 

Haven’t left the pavement yet.. They are on setting 1(soft) of 6. They are much softer than OEM and no clunking on sharp bumps. Really cleaned up on road, and still feels planted. Build quality looks excellent.

 

I’ve now noticed an odd vibration/sound from the front drivers side, it’s faint and goes away when in 4HI… Assuming it’s the dreaded needle bearing! Ordered the kit should have it done next week.

 

Needle bearing delete done, rear shock boots, and front seal savers.

I haven't seen the Fox set mentioned anywhere else or posted anywhere. Any idea when it was released?

Does this lift not have any lift in the rear? I didn't see any new real coil, but just an upgraded rear shock. I very well could have missed it though

No rear coils. You could always add on some rear Icon coils for not too steep of a price. But damn those Fox’s don’t leave much room for adding on

 

It’s possible? But not much. My JRI’s lifted the rear 1/2 an inch. Like gmak said you’re probably going to need new springs or a spacer to lift the rear.

 

Did you get those installed..?

Bump.

Hoping that Old Man Emu comes out with a stage 2 type upgrade for more lift on the Trailhunter. Really surprised to see so little availability from them on 4G parts.

The Falcon shocks would be tempting if they had a 3” lift option. I had them on a Gladiator and they were the bees knees.

 

OME was at the top of my list but I got impatient…

 

Ironman posted over a year ago that they had a 4th gen for testing and they still havent released anything other than their spacer kit. Bilstein makes the OEM shocks and nothing from them either. It's annoying.

I've always wondered if Bilstein has some sort of agreement with Toyota that prevents them from launching products for a certain amount of time. As the OEM supplier they already had access to vehicles and data way earlier than any of the other aftermarket companies, yet they'll be the last ones to release any products.
