Police will not enforce parking at the private parking lot, unless they park in front of the fire hydrant. Sometimes, sometimes they will ticket a vehicle without a HC permit in a HC parking spot.
Based on my experience with Anchorage, AK PD and my restaurant.
I've had people park their trucks and SUVs on TOP of my landscaping (stones and bushes and all), and was told it was my responsibility to tell them to move the vehicles. It was not a ticketable offense.

Pretty dumb b/c how does one identify the person who owns the vehicle otherwise? Had this happen a while ago when I was parked onstreet and someone pulled right up on me whilst also straddling the crosswalk and curb cut.

Appears to be pointed downhill. Easier to push start. It is an Alfa.

For the assholes parking on top of stones and bushes I wonder if you could claim trespassing to get them towed.
Or you could post some tow signs then call your local tow yard to hook them up

We do a written warning at our condo complex with photographs to prove that we warned them. Then they get towed… but we’ve never had a repeat violation. A tow warning is enough to convince most people to behave.

I was on my HOA board. We never had illegal parkers towed because they would always just sue us. We put warning stickers on windows and got sued for that. When people bitched about illegal parkers I told them we would need to raise dues to cover the extra legal fees.

    Screwit. Not worth the hassle.

    lol!
Almost every time we have to enforce a serious rule, someone threatens to sue. Once they find out how much it actually costs to sue someone, they back down. The few things we have had to go to court over, we have won because the rules are simple and we only enforce them for obvious violations with clear penalties. It’s probably why our warnings are taken seriously.

I’ve been the President (wooo! Important I know!) for 15 years. Simply knowing that the rules are enforceable and will be enforced is enough for the people who aren’t inclined to be good citizens. Probably my military background, but I hate a lack of discipline and esprit de corps.

I've lived under 3 HoAs, all have been positive experiences. The one common thing across all 3 HoAs is that people would complain that they didn't know that so-and-so action is against the rules, even though every property buyer is provided with a copy of the Covenants and By-Laws before they close (or at least they should have been.) Many HoAs require that you sign a document attesting that you have read the Covenants and By-Laws. I have no doubt, however, that many buyers acknowledge they have read the documents, when they didn't.

Not so much for the parking but for leaving the dog inside with the windows closed.
I saw the owner and told her what I thought. She said that the sunroof was open. Sure, open a couple of inches and the dog was
in the back. I'm sure it made a difference.
    Another example that people suck.

We have a narrow drive entrance. This a hole blocked half of our shit yesterday and disappeared. I'm super tempted to tow it.
