after a call with Solo, they told me that their offset bushings are pressed in and wouldn't really have much movement in the stock location. He said he was aware with the issue with tundra racks that are manufactured by other people who have the offset bushings pressed in. I'm getting the rack delivered today. Wish me luck on the install with oem motor and trans mounts!

I also did source some offset heims to work with my JD kit and their tie rods to be able to clear the coilover spring a little better.

Recent rear shock talk got me excited to put these on. Just picked up today. ADS 3.0x5 tubes. Just look at the size of that resi feed tube and resi. Gonna have all the flow.

Still waiting on spindles. As soon as those go in I’ll tear into the front and get parts swapped and check things over. If all is good then it’s party time. Hopefully the next month or so.

The hardest partying leaves are gonna somehow party harder.

hey guys, never had anything long travel before, just bought this post runner and shes pretty rough. its a little 1st gen 5 lug, thinking ill just cut the front off and cage it, but wondering if theres such a thing as a "simple" engine cage? i dont want to run any bump stops or different towers or anything like that just want to get rid of the damage and strengthen things up a bit. it has a bed cage but no cab cage. i dont plan on jumping it or anything like that just want to mildly beat on it untill i get somewhere to unload the quads. also these lower control arms have had ball joint failure based on what the guys from total chaos said about the pics so that sucks. sorry for dumb questions this shits all new to me going to start diving into old forums

I am currently debating on ordering their rollcage and engine cage kit. Are you planning to install it right away? If so, interested in hearing your thoughts.

I see you are in Cave Creek. I am most likely heading out that way in the next month or so. My buddy used to live there, off Lone Mountain, and I need to go grab some things from his place that he is selling. Downtown Cave Creek was always a fun place to hang out.

Yeah pretty much! They said it’ll be about 3 weeks before I have it, then I’ll drop it off to the guy to burn it in.

I’m gonna have him tie the cage into my shock towers and bed cage, and have him work around my center console, since removing it isn’t really an option.

Yeah cave creek is nice! Super close to tons of places to go froading. I live a mile or two south of lone mountain.

Just cab plus the roof and floor kit. I have too much bs to deal with to do an engine cage kit, with the LS and all the other crap. It would have to be completely custom. And if I did that, I think I would go to a 1 piece front clip and ditch the JD inners and core support. Honestly I think that my truck will fit its mission perfect with this cage setup the way I’m describing. It’s not a race truck.

Full drop photos for shits and giggles. Almost full drop at least....Need some taller jack stands. If I get the rear tires off the ground, the front's already started to compress a little.

First desert trip. INSANE. Pretty cool what a Tacoma can do with a bolt on front end and some welding in the back.

I will upload a video later tonight. So much fun

I need to cage this thing asap. I got squirrely over whoops and was very scary.
