Have you checked the pinion bearing?

The reason I asked how many miles is because I was thinking it could be an axle bearing or pinion bearing. With that many miles it is possible it is a bearing in the rear end. Do you have any leaks or wetness around the pinion or rear drum brakes? That can be a sign of a bearing going out but not always. You can have a bad bearing and not have a leak.

No not really. How do you go about checking that with the driveshaft attached?

I haven't noticed any leaks. I did check the differential fluid and it wasn't low by any means. Will the pinion bearing leak diff fluid? Sorry I'm no mechanic by any means lol

I just checked everything is bone dry. No leaks anywhere but like you said doesn't mean it's not bad. How would I check the pinion bearing with the driveshaft attached?

How do you check the pinion bearing and or axle bearing to see if they are bad?

I’m running into a similar sound, I also replaced my wheel bearings and driveshaft components too. Does the pinion bearing going out make noise on acceleration/deceleration only?

It can make a noise on both acceleration or deceleration.

The simplest way to check for a pinion or wheel/axle bearing going out in the rear end is to drain the oil and look for glitter or a shimmer in the old oil.

    New tires. Balanced.
Drive shaft center hanger bearing replaced (it had failed).

Wheel bearings inspected and are fine.
Pinion bearing seemed fine when we removed the drive shaft to replace the hanger bearing.

The noise isn't maw maw maw.
It's more like loud rode noise that increases as vehicle speed increases. Maaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...continuously without any rhythm or periodicity.
Dropping into neutral while rolling does not impact sound volume.

I'm almost convinced that these Taco's are just loud trucks.

Check the exhaust heat shield mounted to the floor above the cat is secure, maybe.
