This is just the prototype and we will be looking at adding a couple of features that can be added on. A cover is a possibility. The basket does have several mounting points where you are able to use straps to help hold items in place.

It is not available yet. We did add it to the website to help show a few more pictures.
We will run a pre order for them at a discounted price once we determine a final price and launch date. Which will be some time this month.

We will most likely be coating these in a powder coat that is designed for exterior applications. We use it on all our bed racks and roof racks. Holds up better then standard PC and is also UV resistant, so it won’t fade.

This is awesome! Looks like it mounts up with 6 bolts? Some kind of quick release or fasteners you could loosen by hand to remove for full access to the bed would be incredible

Thanks! Yes, once it’s all put together. 6 bolts is all it takes to remove and reinstall the basket.

Quick release mounts would be a nice addition. It is something we will look into.

With it being hard mounted in the current configuration, it gives it the most strength. It’s been tested with a static load of 350lbs and held up great.

One recommendation because it doesn’t look like it’s currently configured to do this. Make multiple side mounting points so you could mount it a little higher if necessary. I could see someone grumbling because if they had an extra inch or two of underspace, they could slight their whatever thing is too big, under there.

<edit>. I checked the photos again… it looks like you might be able to use some of the molle cutouts to do this?

Appreciate the feedback. A couple more mounting points are going to be added in the final version. The main goal was to keep the basket below the top of the bed rail.
This basket is roughly 7” tall.
If there’s interest in these, we are also working on a basket that’s around 4” tall to have options.

There are mounting points on the sides to be able to mount to our bed side Molle panels. Working on getting pictures of it mounted to those as well.

    This looks awesome, great work!

Guessing you have good reasoning for making out of steel. So asking for my own education. Any thoughts of making it from aluminum?

    again, well done. Looks amazing!

Current weight as it sits is roughly 60lbs.

There will be more material taken off which will help cut down a few more pounds.

Main reason for the steel is price and strength.
With the current design we’ve tested it with 350lbs of static weight, with zero deformation.

Aluminum would be great and a potential. It would raise the price and cut down on the strength a bit. Lowering the load capacity rating.

Making sure there’s enough interest before we get ahead of ourselves.
