Speaking of toys, now you got me all nostalgic for my MK7 GTI. 2.0 turbo, 6 speed manual...

Sold it so I could save up and "purchase" my current house :pout:

I did have this little rice burner for a while.

No catalytic converter, "high flow" header, and basically strait exhaust. Had a stage 2 clutch for all of 120hp since it was non-turbo. Was too far gone to do anything with it. Rear sub frame just about broke in half last time I jacked it up.

I totally deserved that after my smarty britches comment:rofl:

That's the old garage. It was kinda small for what it was, and eaten up by powder post beetles. My current one is a 1 car that used to be a carport. Lots of work on that one!

All in I might have $5K-$6K? into it. Something like that. It was kinda bare walls for the longest time. Past couple months I insulated everything and drywalled. Of course I did everything myself; no way in Hell could I pay someone to do that. Biggest expense was the garage door which was $1800 back in '22. But, it's insulated and 9' wide. That extra foot is really noticeable pulling the truck in.

That’s pretty cheap considering how good it looks. I could never build that myself lol it’s great you were able to do that.

Oh, there's definitely some sins covered up in those walls

I'm kind of a jack of all trades, master of none. Would have never bought this house if I couldn't DIY things. Decent bones, but Lord there's been questionable things done to it over the past 60 years o_O

Hahah it looks almost identical to mine, ours was built in the early 1960’s. We’ve also been slowly updating it. New patio is replacing the ancient rotting deck this month so that’ll be nice for the warmer months.

My house has an interesting feature. Almost the entire back patio is a large rainwater cistern. Probably around 2,000 gallons. I also have a well, so I have the cistern only linked to the front outside spigot. When I moved in it was tied into the hot water system. All kinds of "illegal" there as there has to be a treatment device and a couple other things, and this system does not. That was promptly disconnected. I throw a 1/4 bag of pool shock in there from time to time.

There is an ungodly expensive repair coming up though. When I first looked at the property it had been vacant for several months. So, naturally the septic system passed inspection fine. However after moving in it became well apparent it's on its last legs. Ballpark replacement cost is $30K. For now it's pumped yearly. :bananadead:

Just got home, ran over to a buddy’s house and picked these up for $350. METHOD 17’s with BFG AT’s (2 of 4 are good) and no rash. TPMS installed. Not sure for what yet other than winter rims. If the wife ends up going the 4Runner route, they’ll probably end up hers, but she’s 50/50 on that or the Grand Highlander. But either way, couldn’t pass them up.
