I think its gunna be mostly an after work build. Probably gunna build it in the barn and just bring it over after.

My truck is going to get demoted to the first teen driver at the end of the year. These cheap tires might be ok for the around town use the truck will see. Either that or find some cheap factory take offs.

This isn't a FS thread yet but if anyone wants my old KO2s, I'm getting KO3s put on next Friday. Not looking to make a killing, but if it can pay for my spare, I'd be happy since they've got a ton of tread, I'm just a bit pickier than most on tire age. They're getting pricey these days, but I've been pleased with them across three trucks, so I'm sticking with what I like. I wish they made them in 255/85 as I'd like to play with that size and I don't have the guts to try a 285/75 as I don't want to cut my truck.

I did win my accident appeal today which I was gobsmacked about. I anticipated them laughing in my face honestly because although the dude was a d-bag, I made contact with him. Well, no one showed up to oppose me from my insurance company so I won by default. Points will be gone, surcharge will be gone and all my accident relief perks should be restored. Should save me a few thousand over the six year period. I couldn't be happier.

Been a while - hope everyone is well here. I've been on/off travel non-stop for the last like year so wheeling time is basically null and all my spare time goes to expressing my 2nd amendment rights...

To be honest I haven't done a whole lot to the truck besides general fluid changes however I noticed a pretty noticeable leak and my power steering leak is getting worse. I can't seem to gauge this leak other than I'm guessing it's a valve cover gasket leak that is seeping down. The issue is that whole side of the engine is thoroughly lubricated by a minor power steering leak that is helping rust prevention... I'm going to brake clean it this week and reassess the leak later.

In the photos - you can barely see the wet spot, dead center of the photos. Don't mind the grime build-up... the power steering pump has been misting the whole area since I bought the truck 130k miles ago...

Yeah I’m all good. Just had some chest pains that turned out to just be heartburn, I’ve never had it in my life. I just immediately went cause both my parents passed from heart related stuff.

Better to go and find out it's not cardiac than to not go and find out the hard way.

Not sure on yours but that's the same area my 4 banger leaked oil and turned out was just the sending unit.

I didn't see anything in that area besides the bottom of the valve cover - I'm gonna brake clean it now and take it for a drive and check.

Took a look closer after cleaning it, definitely a leak from mating surface there. I'm not up to snuff on the Tacoma engines so I'll have to look at a diagram when I get home. Doesn't seem to be pissing out the side but definitely something to keep an eye on.

Seeing your first pictures and now the ones with the mirror, it definitely seems like the timing cover is weeping on your truck. I see it alot on higher mileage Toyota's, they never leak, but just weep and make a big mess.

That's clean? I think you need to clean it a bit better. Maybe try something like this: https://www.dollargeneral.com/p/la-...-concentrated-cleaner-refill--oz/722429640222

Funny timing. My dog, pepper, is known for having zero restraint with chasing vermin. In the woods, she will run head first full speed into thorn bushes to chase a rabbit or squirrel. Has yet to catch one.

Well. She knicked her ear on a thorn bush this morning in the woods. Flappy ears, so when she shakes, it was throwing blood EVERYWHERE.

This is not the first time it's happened....

This is what we have to do.

Funny enough. Google says that was April 4 2022. 3 years later, she's a creature of habit!
