    Reserected from the dead.
I've done that several times...and it works perfectly.

Unfortunately, it takes 35-40 minutes to drill all those rivets.

I'm looking for a way to speed things up.

    Gotta make the doll hairs...

if you can find a washer with the same ID as the OD of the bearing, it would be possible to weld that to the pulley, and then use a punch right near the washer ID edge to re-secure the bearing to it.

alternatively, and best-case, if you have a hydraulic shop press, i would just press the bearings out(the second picture shows the factory die pinches to retain the bearing on the press-in side), then press the new bearings in and possibly re-crimp them with some carefully-placed chisel blows.

i feel like that would be too fat, and the rounded nature of that ring might offer too much movement. almost needs a ring made out of keystock.

something more like this, but it still might be too fat and sit proud of the bearing surface.

but the biggest issue is that supplier sells by OD, and the ID is the critical dimension in this situation-- and being that they only measure based on OD, i'm suspicious that ID would likely have some variance to it, which could spell lots of extra work.

Hmm, that's odd. I file single (obviously) and always seem to get a decent chunk back. o_O
