I was getting PO 171 and PO125, plus a second PO171 code. The exhaust manifold has been replaced, vaccuum checked and I installed a new MAF sensor. I still have the 2 PO 171 codes, PO125 is gone at least for now. I did clean the throttle body without removing it from the engine. Not sure what to do next? Pay for more diagnostics, replace the sensors or?? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    FF changed?

to make sure no more V leaks in intake system, with engine running use cholrinated brake cleaner/carb cleaner and spray on gaskets/hose joints.....if engine revs...there is your leak

    In layman’s terms….yeah the same
(There are differences but other seasoned members can list them)

a firm on smoke test…..that knocks out 2 of the 4 check points

My issue turned out to be injectors
    But
No codes only hot no start situation (different than your issue TG)

our injectors sit in plastic cups that are pressed in by hand into the head. mine were brittle as glass. I replaced them as others recommended.
Very possible that injector cup(s) cracked, letting in un monitored air.
    1st things first thou
    Check FF

    as best u can
    Visabley inspect how injectors seat
U can use tht brake clean method as well (only on injectors)
    How many miles?

HA HA, I don't do acronyms very well :(. I hired it done last time, the guy came here and didn't have too much trouble, I may hire it done again. The manual says to remove the intake but he worked underneath it.

No scan tool, just a OBD2 tool, that's not the same as a scan tool is it?

Maybe, some tools just scan, others perform test and read data. What we are trying to determine is is the issue a weak fuel pump, vacuum leak or something else. High mileage on 23 year old injectors and maybe a underspec fuel pump, it is a tough call. You have replaced the MAF but is that reporting the correct amount of air, need a scan tool capable of that measurement.

The P0125 code needs to be addressed too. All the parts that could be put on the truck to "fix" the P0171 are wasted if the PCM never enters closed loop.

Is there a scan tool that works without a phone? (I don't have one as there is no service where I live). I have seen one used but never used one, I don't know much about them, what should I get?

Yes there are... how isolated are you? The reason I ask is that I am hesitant to have someone spend money for something that an autoparts store could do for free. Having said that, I have never used the following tool, Zurich ZR8S from Harbor Freight but it seems to be an adequate tool for the price... the more you pay the more you get but the question is how much tool do you need right now and for future needs? If others have a better/cheaper tool that does not require a cell phone, chime in please.
