From the 3G back down to the 2G.

The Maisto 1971 Camaro Z/28 may be the worst diecast I've ever had the displeasure of getting my hands on. The paint quality doesn't know what impeccable means, the details were performed by someone who was told what a Camaro looked line but never actually saw one and the rear spoiler fitment would not impress a Yugo owner.

However! When you put a $40 wheel set (Autoworld, out of production) on a $17 dollar car, occasionally some magic happens. I think the slots look quite good. I'm reasonably happy with the rear ride height. Much lower looks a little too goofy but I was hoping for something a little less Main Street 1977 and a little more Mulholland Drive 1980, but maybe that's the poorly shaped wheel arches.

No one will ever confuse these with "good" models, but I do truly enjoy tinkering with them and swapping the wheels and ride height around and highly recommend them to anyone who wants to dip their toes in modding.

Nice surprise from William63 a few months ago. I drive by Good Year often on I-76 going through Akron (10 miles away). There was no way I would tear this one apart to modify. At first I didn't realize the tail gate opened and look what I found inside. Really neat addition.Taco World 2 25 106.jpg Taco World 2 25 108.jpg Taco World 2 25 110.jpg Taco World 2 25 111.jpg Taco World 2 25 109.jpg

Sometimes not being able to leave well enough alone has things like this happen. They will live another day. There is a gold Topolino body in my parts box needing everything the red one has. Definite maybe there.Taco World 2 25 061.jpg Taco World 2 25 073.jpg Taco World 2 25 077.jpg

Modified my final Maisto I had laying around. This isn't a true 1/18, I believe it's actually a 1/20. I have it sitting on a set of GMP / Acme wheels from their Gen 1 K5 Blazer. I have the suspension cranked about as high as it will go without custom fabbing parts. I'd like to get some more height out of the nose specifically as it sits a bit low and basically barely rolls / won't steer.

I'm hoping at some point I can snag a roll bar for the bed and I may attempt to paint the white letters on the KO2s, but we will see what the future holds. I like the model a lot, but the bed isn't done right which does kinda bother me. It's a long bed but the bed length behind the rear wheels is incorrect.

Haven't added much to the collection over the years, but had a car in service a few weeks ago and strolled into a Target. Picked up a few that I couldn't resist. There were more that I wanted, but I really don't want to go down that rabbit hole again. :spending:

And I finally found that elusive access cab Tacoma...even if it does come on a flatbed, LOL
