Yeah I didn't inquire further. Kid seems motivated and picks up on things quickly but who knows. Sounds like he's doing alright where he's at but HVAC seems like the better long term career path. At least if he doesn't plan on becoming a certified Arborist and enjoyed HVAC.

I hadn't considered construction vs service. Definitely some potential economic factors.

Yeah it’s something you have to tuff out.
For local UA342 we start traded men at 24$ a hour once you make apprentice that jumps to 30$ and you get a raise every 6 months for the next 5 years as long as you pass your classes and journeymen top out at 78$. But jouneyman rate is suppose to go up 5 dollars in july and july 2026.

then they will make a nee contract. So july 2026 its gunna be 88$ a hour and all the steps below make a % of that.

I've been thinking about going back to 15" wheels for my next set, I kinda wish that I had kept my original rims. I really wish there were more/better 15" options available. Most of the vintage 15" rims I see are 10+ inches wide, I'd rather stay close to factory width and offset.
