I would be interesting to know the differences between that and our precious m90s. Looks cool!

For preventative maintenance and to replace my two idler studs I ordered from @Athlaos. I’ve ordered new SC and main drive bearings. After removing the top two SC idler pulleys and tensioner. I’m starting to think I should just replace the whole pulley. Thoughts? Truck and SC have 93k miles.

So I wrecked my truck and I'm debating on buying it back. its got an OEM TRD SC on it and everything was working fine. I think I'll repair it but Im also trying to think of how much I could get parting it out.

I was curious what you guys think I could get for a full OEM TRD SC setup on the used market? I've had it a couple of years and its got roughly 30k miles on it. In my mind I'm thinking I could post it up for 4500 but not sure if I'm out of line. I'd appreciate any thoughts!

Sorry to hear about the truck getting wrecked. Hope you are physically ok.

Does the casing have the TRD branding or regular maggy. The TRD *should* carry a small premium because it is NLA.

If I was in the market for a used m90 blower. I think I would pull the trigger around the $3k-ish price range. I would then factor in the supercharger rebuild cost and replacement costs of wear and tear items (belts, pulleys/tensioners, etc) in order to feel confident with a used kit.

After the above is done, I'm thinking I would have spent about $4-4.5k for a complete kit that has been freshened up.

Versus $6.3k for a brand new kit.

This is only my opinion....Hope that helps.

There has been a TRD cast supercharger with no parts listed in Denver for many months now. It’s even partially painted red. No information, no service history. They are asking something like $4500.

if someone wants that TRD in the casting that badly, maybe they’ll pay an excessive price, but for something under the hood that is purely visual, it’s not worth that much premium in my mind.

I say that as I have one and like seeing it when I open the hood.

In my experince of wasting $, anything branded (eg. Nismo, TRD, etc) will hold value versus non-branded. Obviously, we're talking genuine stuff and long term.

Search on ebay for vintage nismo or vintage TRD. Shift knobs that went for $50-60 a quarter of a century ago now go for 2x as used.

I have a nismo steering wheel that I bought for $300-350 new back in the days that now goes for $1k.

But ive also been on the flip side and paid a ridiculous amount of $ for a set of used vintage nismo pedals but it came complete with a dead pedal...which was a holy grail for me.

Like a lot of luxury brands in the world....the genuine stuff retains its value more than generic and in some cases, they go up in value and sort of become an investment.......at least that's what I tell my wife.

(From what it sounds like, I wouldn't touch that one in Denver for $4.5k. They're fishing for suckers.)

This one is a TRD stamped one and would obviously come with everything, all accessories, fuel injectors etc.

Thanks for the comments guys, a lil rattled and stressed about the truck but I'm alright

I just bought a used TRD blower with FJ fit kit, in box never installed. With URD Stealth pulley. Sitting in the dudes garage for the past 15 years for my FJ. I'll have $3150 into it shipped to my door. It arrives today!

is that all the damage? Replacing the core support and front fenders isn't that hard.

fender, hood, headlight, grill, bumper. the front frame right behind the bumper got bent slightly up. Thats the reason for the total loss. Its all fixable, just exploring my options and seeing if its worth the effort. Truck only has 81k miles on it.

Got my boost gauge wired up and powered today. So it's time for a trip report.

    My non stock stuff
    Magnuson SC
3 degree delayed cam gears on the exhaust
    mishimoto lower temp thermostat
    Bully dog tune

Still have the stock air intake, with the trd filter that came with the SC. I have an AFE intake that will get installed in a couple of days.

Went for a test drive, did a few launches up to 60, slight uphill. Got the boost gauge to peak at 3.2 - seems low but also, BD tune. Might be normal?
I do have one airline I am going to replace tomorrow, the PCV that vents into the SC housing. Used the old one and I suspect it's not in great shape, I occasionally get a p0441 code.

Also when starting it takes a good minute or two before the temp gauge starts registering. I did burp the coolant when I replaced it post install but I'm still a bit uneasy about the engine not showing warmed up as fast as it used to.

Just posting to make sure that all sounds normal for what I have. I don't have any experience to compare. For context I'm up at 5800-6k foot elevation, and still running the included 3.0 pulley.

That boost sounds normal for your elevation. FWIW, I'm about 1K ft higher and see about 6-7PSI with a 2.5" pulley at WOT.

It's looking like I won't get tuned at my local altitude, which would be my preference. But I'm hoping it won't be much of an issue. Did you get tuned in the Springs?
