3rd gen. I have had great experiences with jd stuff. Probably have gone with the slide rack but didn’t want to move the oil filter/cooler

I have a 2nd gen so no issues for me in that regards. Is there a reason you have offset heimed ends? Your double sheer steering tabs are those JDFab's as well?

    Stock-ish
I was cramming the coilover with tie rod with the Tundra rack/stock tie rods, since the rack is set back farther.

Didn’t want the tie rods hitting the coils at full lock. Double sheer tabs are jd. Refitted to a Camburg lift spindle

Interesting stuff. I am about to install the Basiker tundra rack. Already have outer heims but I am unsure if i want to run full solid tie rods and inner heims or leave stock inner and run a war fab sleave or as is.

Had this same issue. Not a fan of the offset heim ends. Got longer rod ends on the shock to clear the heims from rubbing the coils. It gave me a lift so I ended up with 550 lb. coil springs to level out. A bit of a nose dive now. Other than that @Basikbiker tundra rack holds up pretty good.

My doors are the only stock things left besides the headlights
originally when i first started doing these racks i offered em with new weld in bushings because that was the only feasable way to get it to fit as properly as possible. but many folks out there wanted a bolt in option so the eccentric idea came about. all valid points are mentioned in this thread. some people care some dont. ill still offer the weld in bungs to anyone that wants em. i been dicking around on the computer to design a new crossmember to mount everything perfect, as well as billet diff mounts, but i dont know if the endevor will be worth it? and my truck isnt a good test vehicle for it because i designed a whole LT kit around the rack.

Yup, I bought the same ones then. How have they been holding up? and do you have the offset bushing in the steering rack or did you do cut out and re-weld new barrels?

They’ve been great so far. The rack came with offset bushings but it wasn’t enough. I ended up making some new barrels and welded them in an inch forward. Probably could have gone another 1/4 forward but it started to get wonky with the power steering lines

Cool, think i’ll be able to clear with the oem spot, offset bushings, and the same offset heims? i’m running a jd kit as well but just oem lower pivots.

my son switched to the kartek tie rods and pick up a little clearance as they are smaller in diameter than the aluminum jd rods. He and I are both one puck forward on the pivot kit which is roughly about 1 1/8 forward on the suspension. He is running the stock rack in the stock location with the nylon bushing from JD.

I have the Basibiker and JD pivot kit. I had to go back to stock for now as the eccentric bushing was rubbing on the springs, moving the rack about 3/4 inches from its stock location. The offset is an interesting idea. I have see some others get custom solid ones that tapered narrower in the middle and wider on the ends to clear this issue. Forgot where I saw it but possible solution as well.

Was your rack one where it was a requirement to cut out the old mounting barrels and re-weld in new ones? I would recommend doing this.

And for others with a JD LT kit, I spoke with Jesse as he knows the issue with his kits and clearance with the tie rods and springs. He made a fix for it that he is starting to sell. It's a new coil bucket. You cut out the top portion just above the UCA bolt and re weld in his coil bucket. It moves the mounting point up higher and you no longer utilize a top hat for the coilovers. Paired with it would be a longer rod end, so that there would be more clearance with the tie rods. The tie rods would then be at the height with the rod ends rather than with the springs. Also for 3g tacos your able to bolt an engine cross bar to both of the shock mounts.

Yeah, I’m currently waiting for a tundra rack, JD’s going to do the install w/ their longer rod ends and top hats. I installed new tie rods and mine were hitting as well. Known issue
