My insurance is already expensive enough, I pay more per month just for my bike than some here pay for multiple per year. I'm sure it's gotta be similar where you are

I hate that you hate that sentiment. lol
If a lock or alarm help you feel better than do it. Again JMO you don’t have to agree or hate.
And a house and motorcycle are two different things. Duh

With progressive you get $3000 automatic coverage on aftermarket parts. You don’t need recipes just take pictures of the parts. That’s all they required on the 2011 GSXR that burned.

    Lol totally fair

You know...just my experience so mileage may vary...but my insurance dropped as I added bikes to the policy...maybe that's the ticket ;)

My BMW on it's own policy was about $1400/year. Adding the R3 dropped it down to like $1000, adding the YZ dropped it another $50, adding the R6 bumped it up like $100. Then selling the YZ bumped it up another $20 lol. Full coverage on all bikes.

I have no idea how they calculate it but I'm not complaining.

I have been keeping my eye out for a 996/998 or maybe 999, but they would do the opposite of that!

sounds like you need a grom or monkey to throw on there to offset it!

Can confirm, insurance went down when I added my Grom. S1000XR and 701SM later sent it right back up, but yolo.

So much for the first ride today, had the bike on a noco charger / maintainer all winter and it consistently sat at 12.8 - 13.4V when checked. Rolled it out for first ride and dash wouldn't even turn on! Couple key cycles got the dash up but barely as click out of the starter, rolled back into the garage and checked, sitting @ 11v resting after that, and right down to 6-7V with just the IGN on. New battery last year too, Kimpex standard type. See what I can get out of warranty considerations, and / or try my luck with a NLP5 Lithium - though little weary if the noco charger is to fault or the battery.

Dislike! Same thing happened to me with my SV650. Trickle charged all winter. Went to fire it up, fuel pump primed but not enough juice to turn it over :annoyed: Walked over to the Grom with its lithium battery that has never been hooked up to a charger and it fired right up after 4 months of sitting

I know nothing about bikes - other than they have two wheels, a motor and handlebars. I find myself in the unenviable position of needing to help my brother liquidate his assets due to terminal illness (loooong story). I was wondering if anyone here had an idea of what a 1999 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide in fair condition would be worth? Needs the throttle cable (broken) and belts (intact but 20 years old). Has about 90k miles on it and it has some dents on the gas tank - no leaks, but will need some work to get it right. Not looking for a "quote" but just a ballpark. Trying to do right by him. Don't want to cheat anyone but also don't want to get taken advantage either. Any input would be appreciated.

Princess Auto here has the Noco 5 on sale, might be worth rolling the dice on lithium vs another cheap lead acid.

Good to either kbb.com or nada.com and they show motorcycle values for your area. I worked for an area Harley dealership at one point several years back and those are what they used. Post some pics if you can so we can try to help tell you what accessories it might have.

    Sorry you're in this position

Quick look shows in my area in PA trade in is around 4k and retail 5.5k but I'd really like to see pictures. 20 year old belt is not a big deal, belt on my Buell is the original from 1995.

I looked and prices seem to be all over the place. I will be back out at his place tomorrow or Wednesday - had to move him to an apartment closer to the hospital and Dr. Will post some pics when I get out there. Thanks

With the condition, mileage and damage I would say around 3k. It’s the lower end big twin it’s pretty much the first step up from a sportster. It’s an 88” twin cam and first of the year engine and carbureted. Not much value sadly. I am no expert by any means so take what I say with a grain of salt. I do own a Harley and have had three total.

Thats what I have in my grom, and another one waiting to go into my CT90 whenever I get around to that project.. I put a 14 in my Husky 701SM. My CB750 had a Shorai lifepo4 in it for many years before I sold it, and my F800GS has a 7 year old Antigravity unit in it that's survived two stators grenading themselves sending out who knows what voltage. I'm a firm believer in li-ion/lifepo4/whatever you want to call them.

I've become a big noco fan hah I have another charger I bought circa 2017 or 2018 not listed here, too
