I think it would be cool if we got some euro models here.

Maybe If we hang out with Europe a little more during this neighbourly dispute that could be a possibility? :fingerscrossed:

Agreed, and some of the BS lifted (like the flat-deck stuff).

you do got a point - we might get Euro-spec yotas here.

Removed the failed alternator following this Girlie Garage video. The tight confines were frustrating. Every fastener, wire clip, and electrical connector required a different tool. With the alternator removed, I was able to see a timing cover leak in the area. With no good access to degrease and apply sealer, I decided to leave it.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Put in a reman alternator, Superior (BBB) P/N 11514, only decent one in stock locally. Also put in a new Motomaster 640 CCA group 35 AGM battery, because I pretend this is a serious off-road rig that'll see steep angles. Couldn't trust the old Kirkland battery after it had been so severely discharged following the alternator failure. Unplanned upgrade!

Next on the to-do list is the GM diode mod to raise the charging voltage. I think I can wire up something with two fuse taps to retain the ALT-S fuse.

Big shout out to @blackgen2tacoma ! Within 24hrs, he installed my URD headers, cam gears, replaced my valve cover gaskets, painted my valve covers and he even cleaned my engine compartment. What a difference the truck feels now, good to regain some power lol! Thanks again!

A factory one-ton swap Ranger? Is the rear axle a full-floater? You can get a regular sheet metal bed as well instead of that ute bed. Holy shit.

I got the parts, might try the install next weekend. How do you remove the door sill panel? Is it all clips and you just yank it upward to unclip? Could not find any details online.

yeah pretty much. start at one end, either the B pillar or the front and work your way over. one plastic screw you can undo for the kick panel.

routing the cable is easy, just follow the other electrical cable that already exists. Hardest part is not getting dirt and sand falling into your eyes as you lay on your back and scoot from end to end, next would be theading the cable under the passenger seat to the outside. but overall - pretty easy install. Yota provides a LOT of zipties (both stainless and nylon)
dont forget the retainer clip that snugs onto the tailgate latch itself, it's in the bag, its small though.

B-pillar trim is giving me trouble. Did you remove that to get under the carpet? I removed the seatbelt bolt but I'm a little worried about just yanking the plastic back, seems pretty solidly on there...

Got mine installed as well! I had the added pleasure of having the truck freshly oil sprayed just before winter and then parked it in the garage full time until now (don't ask).
I tell you one thing, hugging a big oily muffler while blindly trying to fasten a slippery metal zip tie was not something I expected to do today.... :annoyed:

Thanks for the tips, glad I got it done.
