Two thumbs up, to each his own.
Now, to all why is the Sport grill a cheese grater but, the O.R. is not...

Does anyone else like the TRD Off-road grill more than the Pro?
I like them about the same with a small nudge going to the TRD OR Grill over the Pro because soooo many people have swapped out to the Pro Grill. It's become similar to Raptor Lights. Cool idea in the beginning but a bit over played in my opinion. And the reduced number of TRD-OR grills out there now makes them stand out as unique, different, and special.

That's why I installed the SR5 grille with the black surround, I dislike the black chrome cheese grater TRD OR grille.

To me they both are cheese grater looking. But like you say it really gets down to what appeals to you - I would have swapped my OR grill even up for a SR5 grill in a heartbeat but I had already installed an x-trek grill so I just gave my OR grill away.

I went with cheap aftermarket, so if a tree branch goes through it, on the trail, I won't cry as much.
I still have the oem grill in great cond.

Back in 2017, when I bought my TRD OR, I immediately swapped the OR grille for the Pro grille. I just prefer the look of the Pro grille. Subsequently also changed to the Pro wheels. Why didn't I buy the Pro in 2017, it did not come with the sunroof. An important option for me. Pick the grille that you like!

I bought a pro grille to replace my stock sport grille, but never put it on. Actually preferred the SR styles, but couldn't decide what I really wanted. Discovered the X-Trek when a TW member posted one for sale, ended up picking it up a few days later. Still need to post the replica pro grille for sale...

Just my cynical thinking...if that Pro grill came on a 2 wheel drive 2.7 instead of a TDR Pro, I don't think anybody would be putting them on their Tacoma.

I like the Pro grill but dislike the TSS sensor. Much prefer that style grill before the TSS. I have a blacked out Sport/OFF Road 2020+ grill. Love the design, looks great in black and the TSS is behind the somewhat large Toyota logo

2020+ OR has the best grill design from Gen3’s run. 2018 OR grill gets honorable mention, but for the chrome surround.

The Pro grills initially were really cool…until aftermarket versions started showing up on every trim including kids’ tricycles.

    UPDATE

So I've been searching the FB marketplace for a few things and came across 2 things I couldn't pass up.
Westcott Designs lift kit (new) $200
    2020 Tacoma Grill - $50

I got both installed now, and I am pretty happy with the outcome. I know I might get burned for removing a signature feature on the TRD Pro, but I wanted to make the truck more my style.
The lift kit finally added the height I feel the touch should have come with.
It doesn't feel that much different than before so I think that is a huge win.

Here she is, all dirty but happy with her new face.
Thank you all for your input!

I’m a fan of the OF grill, I just added tinted vinyl over the emblem. It’s whatever you decide, your the one driving it.

Did you paint it or buy it like that?
I’m not sure if you can tell but mine it’s painted black. Yours looks satin so I’d much rather get that!

Bought the satin black grill on eBay a couple of years ago for $140. An aftermarket body parts company was selling the grill. It does have the sensor mount, but the grill does not have a front camera mount.

Since 4th gen’s are now out, this 3rd gen grill is probably cheaper than what I paid for it

I had a red TRD OR like that one and I agree. Aesthetically the OR grill is better. However, the PRO grill is good so I can see why some might prefer it.
