Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Jumped in the truck this morning to head to an appt and...click. Thought that was odd, so I cycled the power and...click. Starter's wet apparently.

I'm also hearing a new click before the starter kicks on. Still working, but a bit concerning.

Just made an appointment with my tire guy to get a tire fixed Friday morning before I head to Wyalusing. There's a chunk of branch or root wedged in bead and I have a very slow leak. Losing like 3 lbs of pressure a day.

Rich. I had a similar problem 2 years ago after a water crossing in Moab. I would for the better term of it, jiggle the shifter leaver around. The problem happened 2 times in Moab and 1 time after coming back. It hasn't happened since.

Dan, Rich's truck is a 3rd gen, the fix will be far more complex and expensive. Just saying...

We should still encourage the 3rd gen owners. It's not their fault.

Looking like I'll probably get out there around noon Friday. If you guys do take a hike or something, take a radio or 2 along and we can see where everyone is as people arrive Friday. Channel 16 is the usual chat line.

Reminder... Get your State Parks sticker if you haven't already.

    https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/admission

Edit: Even if you don't get the sticker in time I believe you'd be covered with the receipt that you purchased it. I don't recall anyone ever checking, but there's always a first time.

*I'D* never do this since the sticker explicitly says not to, but if you first apply it to a sheet of Grafix Vinyl Cling, cut the cling to size and stick it on your window, park stickers can be removed with ease each year without messy residue or scraping with a razor. I've heard, anyhow. Theoretically this would work with the new Illinois I-Pass stickers too, but how would I know?

I doubt the DNR guy even shows up at the park this time of year. That being said, I put my sticker on the other day. I would have 6 on the windshield but I was able to peel off the 2022 one easily. They must have cheaped out on the adhesive that year, the rest will need a die grinder to get off.

I was in the feed line @ HuHot when you called, making a big ole plate of goodness to stir-fry! I had tried the shifter too, thinking it could be the park or neutral switches too. I remembered Pat @pearing having a similar issue last year after getting wet.

I'm a big fan of the Sticker Shield, so much easier removing them versus scraping with a razor.

PS - For you mountain bikers also don't forget you may need a WI DNR state trail pass. https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/admission/trailpass

Thanks for the heads up! I just checked, apparently Wyalusing does NOT require a pass! I'm shocked!
