Bringing in my new Tacoma this week to have the seat looked at. The dealer said they have never heard of this problem. I find that hard to believe.
Only takes a couple days for my seat to make me feel like a low rider.

It’s been reported here multiple times over the past year. Bad design.

Put some chalk powder on the lever after adjusting it your desired height. Next time you notice the seat has sunk, is the chalk still on the lever? Or are your pants catching the lever when you get in/out?

Try lifting your ass out of the seat instead of sliding out.

And after that we can turn this thread into a rant about the lack of grab handle on the driver side.

And then, we can also complain about the design of the handle on the passenger side.

But the problem isnt a defective part, design maybe, but theres nothing to fix now.

Just raise that ass upward when exiting the vehicle.

    Problem solved.

I've been making a specific point to not drag my ass across that part of the seat when I get out as of late. I wanted to make for sure that I wasn't hitting the handle when I get out. I haven't had to adjust the seat since.

It's still a bad design, but it seems to me that the solution to the problem is pretty simple.

you guys are over the top with some of these responses........:frusty:

nothing new, as crispy taco has stated plenty of folks have mentioned their seat has been bleeding down....
think its an air mechanism, not ratchet....
they will replace the faulty part & move-on...

Wow I’m glad I wasn’t the only one being conscious about sliding my ass across the seat wondering if I’m going to prematurely wear it out.
