Coming from riding atvs and dirt bikes I thought I'd be pretty bored in the permit class. I was very wrong. I learned a lot, it was great. Hope you have a good time. We used their bikes for the class, as we didn't have our own yet. We hope to take the endorsement class with them in July. Sounds a lot easier than the permit test, honestly. At least here in WA.

Ya, we will use their bikes. I don’t think they expect anyone to use their own when they shouldn’t be driving it there, lol. The first class is online and then two days of course time.

Sorry, I meant the class. I have been trying to talk her into at least trying the Grom. I think once I just get her on it, she’ll enjoy it.

If I had my bike I woulda just hauled it down on my trailer. But honestly I'd rather learn on their bikes in case I put it down, lol. My wife is looking forward to taking the next class on her own bike though. No more clutch to think about!

Something that will make it infinitely more approachable for her would be something like a little honda scooter. They are super fun, but it's a relaxed way to sit and isn't "scary" at all. I think a Grom has a bit too much of the crotch rocket/risk vibe for somebody who is kinda of afraid of bikes.

I looked into it but the rebate from Michelin is on the Road 6 but not the Road 4. Road 6s are a LOT more money even with the rebate. I've been running the PR4GTs on the FJR and getting around 13k miles on a pair. I just pulled the worn out Road 6GTs off of the 2013 I had bought and based on how many miles I put on them plus what the PO told me they had on when I purchased it they only lasted 12k. YMMV

Yeah. I'm a little hard on tires especially the rear. I get about 5k out of a rear and maybe 10k out of a front.

Unfortunately the super tenere has some odd sizes for tires which limits options.

    110/80-19 up front
    And
    150/70-17 out back

So I'm stuck with the road 6, Continental trail or road attack and only a few other street tires to choose from (I don't need an adv off road tire on the big heavy thing)

That sort of sucks. I keep considering adding a Super Tenere but that could make me thing twice.

The FJR uses common enough sizes, 120-70/17 front and 180-55/17 rear but oddly enough they seem to eat front tires faster for a lot of riders, myself included. I always swap them out as a pair but I know I could usually stretch the rear out for another 1000 miles or so. The Road 6 rear was the first where I had a rear be done first.

Yeah it's not that big of a deal, you can get tires in the proper size on most modern latest models of the tires out there but older molds companies have dropped off the sizes just due to demand not being there. I've never had a problem getting tires in the right size

Anyone have recommendations for air compressors? I bought a media blaster from hobo freight but it says 10cfm....

I currently have a 6 gallon pancake that can do 2.5cfm and 7.5 gallon that will do 2. I know i could use them but ill be stopping constantly if it works well at all..

Best i can find within a reasonable budget is a 20gal husky for $240-300 that will do 4cfm. I dont want to justify a single stage right now

Have you tested it with your current compressors? Consider Teeing your compressors together to run them at the same time to get more tank volume.

Wow... I was surprised it took so many CFM (not knowing anything about blasting)... Obviously the below is probably more like professional grade stuff, but the lowest they have listed is 11. And 2.5 HP compressor.

Whatever you do don't go with an oil less compressor, they just don't last and when they crap out you can't get parts for them.

Honestly I'd take you up on that...if my garage was able to be programmed to any remotes lol. No one in my household nor the landlord can seem to figure it out.

haha sorta! but no its a 220 plug that i do not have in my house so id have to cut the end off and switch it to one i have in my house pluuuuus my house has no 220 out in the garage so id have to route a wire out there for the compressor double plus thaaat my fuse box is full so i cant really add another (to my knowledge) without upgrading the fuse box and then i can do the rest haha.
