Well 16 years, a few thousand cooks, but tonight this spatula flipped its last burger... Thankfully it stayed together long enough to get them out of the skillet.

Hang onto it. I inherited the flipper my mom used until she couldn't cook any more. I use it occasionally. I also have the big blue enameled mixing bowl that was her only mixing bowl.

Hang onto and try to preserve those special utensils.

"I have so much random ingredients" ground turkey coq au vin. Brown everything, 3 minutes at pressure in an instant pot, natural release for 10 then blast the top for the rest (or natural release until it's done, but I was hungry, and it was ground turkey, not a big deal).

    upload_2025-4-7_8-34-52.jpg

I've had (and made) better, but this was a good one to keep and will repeat.

I haven't owned one in a while. Matter of fact we went Ford and (don't hate for this) it's not even gas powered. :crapstorm:

My mom used to make Catsup Shrimp in the wok. Not the fanciest name; I’m not even sure if that’s what she called it or that’s what us kids called it. haven’t had it in over 30+ years probably

That might be the name. My stepdad just started cooking me stuff when he got cancer. Dishes we had as kids. Now I know; he was teaching me some of the ones I loved. I’m grateful.

Another "Random ingredients abound" meal - pizza egg white frittata.

    Pizza.

Ground beef, some bacon, peppers and onions, cheese and sauce mixed into the egg whites. Topped with the rest of the cheese. Forgot to top with some red onions, but oh well.

Sauce was superfluous, next time I might try to figure out how to "top" with sauce and cheese instead of mixing the sauce into the eggs.

I think I shared this here back last summer, but just clearing out my google photos to free up space, and found it again. What I can, I think safely, declare as the blandest Pad Thai ever made.

It looks edible and uses the ingredients found in pad thai, but seems to be missing the sauce, lime, etc. it’s like they got an ingredient list and said “I’ll wing it!” Sorry you were taken by Bama Mike’s Grill.
