So I changed my transfer case fluid today and used 75w Ravenol.

the issue I am having, or I think I’m having, is I’m not sure if it filled enough.

When filling, I wasn’t able to get the bottle fully pointing down so there was about 1/4 inch of fluid left in the bottle. It never weep’d out of the transfer case hole so I’m not sure if it was enough.

question is should I buy another bottle of Ravenol and top off? $26/bottle and it will take a few days to get it delivered.
or can I buy a bottle of mobile one 75w-90 locally and top off with that? Or just leave it as is?

A 1/4" in the bottle is maybe 2 oz.
The transfer case should be fine as is.

Personally I would order another bottle of the Ravenol and top it off when I could.

Do not mix the fluid, that would defeat the purpose of using the recommended lubricant.

You can use a cheap turkey baster to get the last of the oil in too.

If the amount you put into the transfer case is within an ounce or two of the stated fill amount (as specified in the manual), then you are fine. If this is going to keep you up at night, then buy another bottle and top it off the next time you are under there.

If it was me….I’d buy another bottle and fill it until it starts to trickle out.

Can you stick your finger in the fill hole and feel how low it is?

    That's what she said lol

I bought 3 bottles of the Ravenol 75W at the same time since I figured I'd do another fluid change at some point. Had to use a tiny bit of the second bottle to get it to dribble out of the t-case

The transfer case takes a hair over a quart. If you want to save a nickel you could put a splash of what you drained out back in to top it off.

    I wouldn't take the chance.
You've probably already caused irreparable damage by letting it sit for more than 60 seconds without enough fluid in it.
I would trade it in and go full EV!

I was using gloves but I did stick a finger in it. It came out a little wet, but I couldn’t tell if it was because the threads might have had a little fluid on them.

I used an empty Valvoline gear oil bottle. I put my OEM transfer case fluid in the Valvoline bottle and was able to get the bottle at an angle to get all of the fluid out of the bottle by squeezing. I did not spill a drop.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Pick up a fluid pump so you can drain the quart bottles. Much easier and no mess.

I used Redline MT-LV 70w75 that only comes in a quart and it did take a little more than that.. I just filled my gear oil bottle with it and put a short clear hose on the end, basiclly the same. It worked perfectly. I did need a fluid pump to fill the front diff.

Did you pull the cool spout straw out of the bottle? I was able to empty it and get some flow out of the fill hole.

If fully extended like that he should be able to empty the bottle. That is about the length of tubing I added to my empty gear oil bottle to fill up with MT-LV. In fact that bottle with the straw is so nice I may have to use Ravnol next time.
