Nothing "scrap" about that. "Spare" or "yet to be used" is more appropriate.

Anyone have a DeWalt "upright: planer, aka cheapie planer?

Yeah I was an idiot for buying this thing. Sure it did fine with softwoods, all my cedar projects and such. But not really a thing for fine woodworking.

That said I just need it for one more surface, a couple three very shallow passes - the real problem the puller rollers just don't seem to grip on shallow cuts and deeper cuts the thing really struggles. Any ideas on this thing?

And clean the rollers with some DNA or mineral spirits.

    Wait. It gets even funnier.

First let me say: It's the poor woodworker who blames his tools!

Well itsortaisthetool - I take the blade shroud off and here is a strip of foam rubber and a rectangle of cardboard. These were previously never visible to me - not sure why they were there, but this stuff caused a HUGE ball of a buttplug of all sorts of shavings (and I just thought my shopvac wasn't cutting it!!)

Wow that thing must have been super clogged up. I know how bad mine gets when the bag is full. It spits chips everywhere.

Glad that you got it figured out.

Some signs would have been nice. That part is covered in the box.

It's inside the machine as delivered (under A below). Purchaser just attaches the duct hood adapter. DeWalt had no notice to remove anything INSIDE the A cover, and it was not visible when I put the duct adapter on.

I'm really surprised it didn't get a huge bolus earlier! DeWalt!!!

Leave him alone, you big meanies!

I am sure he has tried to conceal this from his wife to avoid further humiliation. :anonymous:

Well I don't feel TOO idiotic other than - well when the vacuum stopped pulling much anything, I should have stopped. But in my mind this is on DeWalt.

Blame the misuse of packing material on the inanimate object. Good idea. o_O

No I blame DeWalt corporation for putting packing material in an area that is not normally opened until needing blade change or maintenance.

Cleaned, waxed, etc ready to go

And I found where the foam came from and not a setup interface! I glued it back in place IMG_0246.jpg
