Dude. My story is everything Florida Man. It involves hillbillies, beer, cut off jean shorts, smokes, mullets, nekkid people, hotel pool, a giant locust, more smokes, blood on a mirror, shag carpet, lightning storms, gators, sleeping in our clothes, and a sunrise retreat back to Disneyworld after a very Florida night in Naples....its rad.
Also love me some HI. We try and go every year. I always bring a skateboard and hand it off to one of the local kids before I leave. They stop mean mugging the pink Haoli, at the skatepark, once I do that.

This is a recurring thing I keep seeing. Regarding the lower bolts, what is the benefit for doing this over OEM?

The OEM bolts shank is stepped down the replacement bolts are one continuous diameter.
Some people report clunking in the lower shock from the shock bushings rocking on the OEM bolts.
When I ordered them I didn't know what shocks I was getting yet but figured it was cheap and easy to do while I had everything apart.

I was born and raised in Naples, FL. I moved to WA back in 2001 and generally enjoy the weather here more. I love how green it stays here. Family keeps me visiting Naples a few times a year for now. It's really hard to beat their beaches with that soft white sand. It's not the same place that I grew up in at all though anymore. I started riding ATC's when I was five. I used to go explore and ride all day long and head back when it got dark. Now, even if I had all the money, I could never recreate that. Everything is a gated community or golf course. Not the city of my childhood, but what city is I guess. I was a lucky kid.

I visit my sister who lives in Castro Valley, but I've yet to take the taco down for a proper road trip down that way. It's always just faster and cheaper to fly for short visits. There's some cool looking places there for sure. I'll need to throw my hammock in the rig and head down that way soon.

I've only been lucky enough to visit HI's big island once. Super pretty there too.

lol. I meant that parking is shitty. Filled with holes. Everything is closed until it dries out. Pismo is cool if you go some random week night, camp on the beach. I’m not really into the crowds myself. You just gotta air down, fly a flag, and be ready to wash out a ton of sand. I lost 2 lug nuts out there. :anonymous:

naci-ferg was open a little while back.

I’ve had a victory Molle panel sitting in the garage for a minute. Finally installed it today. Then the other side arrived so I put that one in. Stripped the last bolt on the bed rail. The victory panels go behind the rail. Got very creative to pull it out. IMG_2502.jpg IMG_2501.jpgGot the tool shed look going on back there. IMG_2503.jpg Now I have to reposition my Vled bed lights. Maybe wash the bed out. Any one missing yellow button? Found it somewhere in the Sierra forest. Serious inquiries only.

Had these rear grab handle panels for a bit of time and the main thing that held me off on install was I didn’t like the jack nuts and that tiny + bolt… so I finally vacuumed out the truck so I could start removing the panels and see the size hole I was working with. The hole is slightly smaller than a m6 rivet nut but m6 bolt was too big for the metal sleeve provided (for the tiny bolt). Ordered a new sleeve to size and bolt to length

    Comparison
    IMG_3420.jpg

I will have to still make the hole bigger by a couple .1mm in the b pillar. I had to make the hole for the sleeve (in the replacement panel) slightly bigger but very minimal change will be needed.

How’s the rest of it look? I mean aside from shitty hardware. Do the panels match, etc?

    Incorrect.

That is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything.

However, there is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened. :)

Tbh I haven’t actually looked at the new piece against the existing. The panel itself isn’t bad looking, I also already have the drivers grab handle and know/knew about potential issues going in from past.

I plan on opening it up again this weekend so I can drill the holes bigger and install the rivet nut, once that’s in then the rest should be a breeze
