I love the simplicity of your truck, it's exactly what I plan on doing with mine. I never thought about the rear pressure vents being the culprit for road noise but I've noticed mine also sounds like an open window so it's probably the same issue. I'll have to try the memory foam mattress topper trick.

Great looking rig! I like the racks on both cab and camper topper - Gonna do the same; but unfortunately, my cap doesn't have mount, and I'm going to first have to get that install (not something I care to do myself)

Hood scoop indicates a TRD Offroad? Have diff locker?

Flat hood gang, I prefer no scoop IMO - but would if it were functional - What trim and TRD package? Did you swap hood? Have diff locker?

 

Mine is a '17, that time only Sport trims have scoop hood. So members on here ask for hood exchange these days. I had SR5 but hood vibrated... I know it can be fixed under the warranty, so instead, I traded it in for TRD model.

Edit: I wanted off road but I didn't want 6 months wait.. so I got Sport instead. At least I was lucky that time they had only black model with black interior.. I got it off the lot.

About the your cap, you can get the Thule track rails so you can install aftermarket racks on there such as Prinsu, UpTOP, etc.

Your local topper dealer can install the rails for you.

Nice - mine's a 2017 as well; Didn't know all that about hoods and models of that time - But same here, the Limited trim isn't/ wasn't offered with lockers... but man do I love the hickory brown leather

RE topper rails - that's exactly my plan!

 

I wasn't cool enough to have a skewp, so I just cut holes in my hood instead.

That's easy, hire Hugh Jackman, so he can cut the holes with his wolverine claws.

I’ve got the TRD Hyrule Edition.

TRD off road. I’ve tried and failed to get a scooped hood since I’ve had it and several times came close. Rear diff locker that I’ve not had to use yet.

this is my second Tacoma, first was a 2006 Sport with scoop. There were a few times off-roading with it that a locker might have saved me a bunch of trouble so I wanted the off road this time.

 

Mine: 2007 Tacoma SR5 (owned for 4 years) > 2017 Tacoma SR5 (4 months) > 2017 Tacoma Sport (currently what I drive now)
