4G hate especially for the PRO why?

I don't hate the Pro or the TH, but I could never see myself driving one. I subscribe to the grey man theory, and those trim levels, even the O/R are too flashy.

 

Too flashy? Most people don't know what a TRD Pro is (or what they cost) and would say the Limited is more flashy.

 

as I saw in a teaser headline blurb from one of the many auto zines yesterday, the Limited is one sweeeeeeet looking road truck. Not sure I'd take those $1300 motorized step bars on a trail though...

New pro is sick and I’d love to buy one but the seats are a dealbreaker. No kids yet and no one needs to sit back there too often but they just look stupid and gimmicky and it should have been an option not standard. I’ve told myself my next Tacoma will be a TRD Pro and I’d buy one now if it wasn’t for the seats

coming from an 2015 with 152,000 miles on it I test drove a 2025 TRD off road hybrid and was amazed at the power. It puts the V6 to shame in my 15. Price is still insane for a mid size truck. Hard to believe mine was $32,500 in 2015. Sure inflation is a thing but is it really almost twice the truck today ? And the fact that you have to spend almost $58,000 on the hybrid to get fake leather is hilarious. Don’t get me wrong I love the softex but Toyota needs to do better. I’ve been a huge Toyota fanboy in the past but these new trucks are insanely priced. That’s my biggest hang up. Are they really worth $55,000+?

My truck is paid off and has been since the day I got it so I will hang onto it. I’ll wait until a cool color comes out like an army green or cavalry blue. Maybe Toyota will pull those seats out and make them an option on the pro. Then I’d consider one. Otherwise for the TRD off-road I’ll wait for a better color to come out than the boring ones that are available now. Just my two cents and opinions are like buttholes!

 

It is possible the ISO seats could go away or become optional. Remember, the 2019 Pro snorkel was not around very long.

yeah that would be great if they made them an option! I love the new 4th Gen , it’s a huge upgrade from 3rd or 2nd both. Price is up there but I do think they come with a lot of features so maybe it’s justified ? It does cause you to pause when you see the price. I was looking at the frontier pro-4x and you can get into one for about $45k or less fully loaded but the Tacoma interior and exterior looks etc are worlds better in my opinion. Maybe that’s the fanboy coming out of me. I plan on getting a 4th gen just going to wait for the ideal color etc, hopefully it’s a pro but if they don’t get rid of the seats I will get a trd off road eventually.

at the end of the day it’s worth whatever people are willing to pay and if people are paying it then I don’t blame them the price is justified in that case

 

its IFS when Toyota knows how to make a solid axle.

it has fake Pro parts marketed as a Pro for Pro price.

it has a welded on rear tow hitch.

The whole point of the Pro is to be over the top. Taller, wider, hood scoop, heritage grille, bumpers, exhaust, billet suspension parts. A couple of TRD Pro badges in the interior wouldn't be enough. It needs over the top seats.

The 2019 snorkel was optional.

 

I assume you don't like the front seats, because of the shock absorbers? They're comfortable, but it's the lack of leg room in the back seats that's an issue for me. That's a problem with all new Tacoma's now regardless of trim level. $60k is pretty much the going rate for new vehicles these days and that's just a start. If you want a full size vehicle you're easily 70k-100k depending on what kind of deal you can find.

 

I suspect most owners of the Pro and TH aren’t using them for the marketed reasons (and I have zero issues with that). Agree that the suspension part of the seats and snorkel should be options.

I will say that I personally love the camo design of the Pro seats. That’s not for everyone, either.

 

sorry not up to speed on this thread or 4G at all. but about the hood scoop. they had an opportunity to have a top mount intercooler there, but sounds like it's a front mount. which is fine. just stop with the hood scoop unless there is TMIC or even an oil cooler!

 

Maybe an owner of a 25 4Runner TRD Pro may want to switch their regular seats for the Iso Dynamic ones

 

to each their own. If someone wants to pay $65k for the seats and to sacrifice rear leg room then that’s their choice but it would be nice if it was an option. The actual design of the seats is sick don't get me wrong it's just the shocks on the seats don't make it a more capable truck offroad, just a comfort thing. I'd be curious to try them but even if they were all the hype I still wouldn't want them.

Yeah I mean in my opinion I think the idea is super cool but it's the fact that it kills the rear leg room that blows the deal for me. I rarely ever have anyone in my back seat though but it's still just the point of it. I do load stuff on the floor all the time too though and it reduces that space too. Often times have lots of stuff on floor and rear seat itself. I'm sure the off road ride on the pro is super smooth with those seats I just wish it was optional. I've just never seen anyone really outfit a truck for offroading and modify their seats to have shocks in them minus maybe Baja stuff but even then I'm not sure that's a department I'm ignorant in.

 

Not in NH - full size for under 50k or even 45k for a Tradesman or XL, easy. Mid-sized got too popular and too expensive for what they are IMHO and no longer worth the price.

 

Prices are up there on vehicles but you can get a F250 STX 6.8 4x4 in any configuration for around 55k. I know a Super Duty is not wanted by everyone. Last month I was seeing XLT SD Tremors listed for 65k, throw on a a Powerstroke and leather that bumps up the price by 30k.

I'd rather buy the SD Tremor for 65k over the Pro for 65k. I'd rather have an Xcab SR or SR5 for 20k less than those two. I don't need a Pro or a SD. Of course anyone can spend as much money on any truck they would like to.
