Going to be having a full batch of these billet 6061 steering rack bushings made. Sized for 1/2” hardware. If you’re interested, feel free to DM me.

We also have some other things being machined that will add substantial support to the factory racks. This won’t be an end all solution. But it will certainly aid for many.

it looks a lot closer in the photos there’s actually a decent amount of clearance, even if the rack bushings did move a bit.

Thinking about letting go of the truck, might be hard to sell on the east coast, anyone have any experience with bring a trailer or race desert? I know I would never buy a modified vehicle sight unseen but I guess people do it everyday on these sites.

Most guys will find someone they know or someone reputable in your area to come and look things over for them pre purchase. Though, some may just jump and buy without looking into things. You likely won’t have much issue moving it along should you decide to.

Don’t have experience with either marketplace you have mentioned but I see no reason it wouldn’t be worth listing there.

My daughter is showing interest in MX and this truck could pay for a nice mx setup. Ford ranger and trailer with 2 bikes, something like that.

I had plans to move out west later on in life but I doubt that will ever happen.

I was considering doing my rack bushings while waiting to see what 74Weld come up with for the 3rd gen... do you really need to pull the whole rack to do the bushings on the 3rd gen? It looks like a pain in the ass vs the quick job it was on the 2nds.

Got my 4130 ram extensions back yesterday, he nailed the sizing with these and we are dead on with the factory rack width now.

Also managed to find off the shelf -6 to metric fittings for the servo feed ports.

Everything is a go on trying something kinda new.

I always wanted to try and add a ram to the stock rack, but just never had time to dig into it. I assume that's what you're going for?

Spoke with 74weld last month at the overland expo. They did mention they are testing a billet rack setup on a 4Runner. But said it probably won’t be released until end of year or early next. They said price range should be between $3500-$5500

I won’t be able to make it to Stellar’s event on Saturday but if anyone is in the area they should go check it out and report back.. sounds like they’ve made more progress recently.

If they're at the low end of that, it could be compared to the Solo rack @ $2k.

but it sounds like the intended customer is in the same tax bracket as their portal customers.
