    not really....
dealership bread & butter comes from the real work done within the service dept, & im not talking about the lube dept....
figuratively speaking they give oil changes away to get them in the door...

I would call back and speak to the salesman you bought the truck from. Tell him what the problem is and then tell him exactly what you want him to do to fix the problem.

That obviously includes the bulb but it would not hurt to throw in something not too expensive that you want them to do to make up for your time and trouble.

The key to getting satisfaction is to clearly State what it is you want. Just calling up and complaining does no good.

So, this happened. Not in MA, but down in TX where I live. I don't want to post in the TX forum because I don't want 83 "Out the shop" posts. Or 800 "Just do it yourself" posts.

Took my Tacoma into the non dealer shop I've been using since shortly after we got down here in late 2023. Nice day, so I sat outside while they did the oil change and tire rotation. I had my coffee and a short cigar.

About 40 minutes later the kid doing the work backed out the garage, drove to the parking area right in front of me and started to back the Taco into a parking space. Started to because the right front wheel fell off and the lug nuts rolled across the parking lot. Oooops.

The kid went in to get a floor jack and the foreman came out to look at the truck. I walked over and took a look as well. No damage to the body work or even the suspension, but the inner fender liner was banged up. Foreman told me that they'd order one and install it for me. Fine.

I went inside and chatted with the shop manager who told me that the kid was very reliable and in two years hadn't had any issues. Again, I'm not mad as long as they make it right.

About 20 minutes later the foreman came in and said the wheel was on, but he didn't like the way the studs looked so he ordered a new hub assembly and have that installed later in the day. One of the guys gave me a ride home. A few hours later they called to tell me that hub was installed, but the inner fender liner wouldn't be in for a day or so. No problem.

It came in and I went over this morning to have that put in.

They also comped me the oil change and tire rotation. That was nice, but I still offered to pay since they did the work.

A cynic will say that they only did that because I watched the whole thing unfold, but based on my previous visits they are just an honest shop.

The fortunate thing is that this all happened in the parking lot and not on the road doing 70.

That's just the best. I have two to work with that have always done well for me.

His concern wasn't just for the missing bulbs. His concern is that if the inspector missed that, what else might they have missed or checks might they have skipped. If it were me, I'd have insisted they do the 160 checks again.

...^^^... Take it back and ask them what "Gold Certification" really means .. 99.9999% of the people know that these certification programs are BSx2.

Did I miss you saying other details about the truck's trim level, year, color, miles and maybe posting a pic showing no bulb ?

I have to confess, I posted this in the wrong thread. Still valid I guess. Drove about 140 miles yesterday and everything was fine.

The dude is either AI, a Troll or an AI Troll. Or maybe a 10 year old playing on mom’s computer. He/it started this one thread which is a bizarre post to say the least. Whose first post would be about the absence of one light bulb on a vehicle they bought that same day. And what’s the first thing he does, he joins TW to cry about a missing light bulb on his newly purchased truck. If it were real he could have stopped at a parts store and got a bulb or he could have driven back to the dealer and got his bulb and been done. He hasn’t signed back on to TW since last Tuesday. The thread/post is bull shit. If I am wrong and he actually becomes a contributing TW member, I’ll sincerely apologize to him.

Perhaps he saw the collective reactions and suddenly "saw the light". He can't be very bright if he can't think outside the bulb;)

    Post 18.

160 point checks rarely, if ever, happen.

Also, posting date suggests it may have been an April Fooler just to stir the pot, which it did.

Return of the OP is unlikely.

Looks like you're right, Clearwater Bill.

PS - I lived in Largo for many years.
