I also thought it was that because of all the oil on top of cooler but it seems to be coming from more on top of the motor. Unless it would be spraying all over. Ima post picture of the spark plugs later today. But I haven’t had any driving problems at all. Just some oil drops under and around the bottom of truck.

Hey guys I was able to take out the spark plugs and take a couple pics. Hopefully u guys can tell me what’s up with them. Never seen them like this before. They look burnt and with orange powder which I’m assuming is the coolant mixing with the oil as I did smell and see a lot of oil on spark plugs. Any ideas of what this could be would be greatly appreciated.

After spark plug check, I started truck and a ton of white smoke started spitting out and smelled like really sweet gasoline. But it warmed up and ran completely fine.

Sure looks like coolant/water in the cylinders to me.

Could it just be the valve cover gasket, or is it for sure the head gasket?

    IMO
    85% sure HG
Only way coolant can enter combustion chamber (unless cracked head)

    to confirm
You need Compression and Leak Down tests
    More so leak down

compressed air into each cylinder and engine turned by hand
Then you listen for air leaks
Every mechanic has their own method

other option is a borescope…..to inspect each cylinder thru removed spark plug hole
Bet u that every rusty plug has a steam cleaned looking piston head
Some borescopes super cheap using phone as your screen

Sucks to pay for a Valve Cover gasket replacement when it’s not the issue. Who recommended that?

Thank you for the write up I be sure get it fixed as soon as possible. I’ll try the borescope method first due to my work I luckily have one. So in your opinion I would have to get the head gasket done. I’ll most likely have the timing belt done aswell since it’ll need to come out. And have my valve cover gasket done again including the camshaft plugs. Is there anything else you guys would recommend I should have done along with the things I mentioned? ( truck has about 165000 miles) I live in Los Angeles CA and I haven’t been able to find a 1st gen Tacoma mechanic or garage around my area so I had taking it to a local shop where they said it was the valve cover. So if you guys happen to know any mechanic in my area let me know.

It's irrelevant. You have a blown HG, don't drive it until it's fixed. The plugs rust but the bore won't, just replace the plugs after the repair.

It's an easy job for any mechanic, no need for a specialist, anyone that works on Toyota will be up to it. Nothing fancy about these.
