Yeah I had to ping the vendor directly once a week for ~3-4 weeks before they sent them my way. They just came in and I installed. Def a lack of consistency with what was received. Two different retaining brackets. No big deal just something that I noted. Overall I'm pretty disappointed in the quality thus far. For the money and the competition on the market.

So I came into the thread to check in on the latch situation...thought maybe I was the odd man out... man that sucks......mine pop open constantly...its only the sides however. Tonight was particularly frustrating as it would NOT stay locked. It kept popping open. I ended up lightly ratchet strapping it shut for now bc as luck would have it, it was starting to rain, get dark, and was cold today. Has there been ANY solution whatsoever? These caps aren't cheap and I am beyond confused as to why the latch of all things is the weak point. Caps have been around for a decent time - but lets assume for the sake of conversation that they are somewhat new to the market....A common latch however......that technology has been around FOREVER. Why is this so difficult? Maybe I am being too harsh but I am most certainly annoyed. For those of you with replacements, have they worked? Is anyone actually getting replacements?

Anyone else with latch issues think this may be due to weather conditions? Didn't have an issue during the warmer months, but seems this winter was when they started acting up.

Its possible but I dont think thats a good excuse IF that is in fact the case... Imagine buying anything else and then it doesnt function the way it supposed to because of the weather.... that would be ridiculous. Would also be curious however to hear from others on this. Thanks for the good question

My RSI Smartcap is still using the original locking latches. I'm down to the last Furnlock key. Have you guys been able to get replacements made? The Home Depot key maker machines can't do these small keys.

The key for me hasnt been the issue. I would imagine though the keys have their own numerical code similar to other lock/key combos...*SHOULD* be easy enough

I got a set of replacement latches from them and they've worked perfectly since.

I would recommend however when you do get the replacements, close each one hold in in one hand and with your other hand hit the side of the latch with a screwdriver handle or something just to give it a little jolt. If they pop open, you will 100% have more problems.

Typically its the usage not the weather. The red button latches are known to fail over time. Replacement latches are available and a new revision is in the works. Definitely frustrating to everyone especially seeing as Smartcap does not personally make the latch.

Ever since Hard Korr lighting pulled out of the US we have been looking to find a good replacement for canopy interior lighting. While there are some offerings out there, many didn't include amber lights. So instead we decided to make our own canopy lighting kit. Available two ways one with pre length screw together connections and one with bulk wire for a more custom clean look.

What kind of response does warranty/customer service provide for a leaking cap?

They did a crap job with the seals. Almost every place that the seals have popped out leaks.
I sent them a pic of this before assembly, reply was "thanks for the information..."

I've contacted them about a window that wont slide back with out smacking it, so they sent me a video on how to open a window??? Later I found some missing pieces on the sliders, causing a jam.

I'm concerned that I made a terrible mistake buying this POS.

If you get a cap with good paint it is fairly resistant to scratches. Most of our customers have been ceramic coating them as well.

It's paint... you run it through brush, you're gonna get pinstripes. Fortunately, it will match the truck... as me how I know.

    Hahahaha! Trail Rig!

I have never been so comfortable. We were parked in a tight spot near some shrubs. I told my wife: Remember, you don't have to worry about the paint.
