I ordered a DD LPK last night along with some roll pin punches and a pivot pin installation tool. My Spikes lower should be at my FFL but I've got to wait 7 business days from last Friday before I can get it. I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure out what upper to get, should I build it or buy it, what barrel, so many decisions. I don't want to break the bank but I want a decent barrel though.

get a built upper reciever group that already has the upper reciever, barrel, front sight , and gas tube already assembled.

its just easier to get it that way and I dont think you would save any money getting those things seperatly

Thats pretty much what I've been thinking. UPS dropped my LPK off today, FFL says I can pick up my lower tonight, IRS says my refund should be deposited today, looks like I'm going to shop for an upper. I'm thinking LMT...

Also, look into Bravo Company (bravocompanyusa.com). Their products are fast becoming an industry standard. I've got one with a few thousand rounds down the pipe and it still runs flawless.

True, but the price vs quality is worth the wait. And, they usually have their mid length 16" in stock... or at least they did yesterday --- I think they're like 399$. You'll need to get rails, but, for bcg, charging handle, barrel, flash hider and upper, that's a steal.

you will still need BCG, Rails, and charging handle...since they are not included.

they have the lightweight upper for 399 and the CHF upper for 489 in stock right now.
