Aluminum is not a hard metal and deflects easily with the forces applied to sliders. It gouges easily on hard rock. It also bends and flexes easily. Not the best choice for sliding over rocks without bending. Steel is REAL and has many better properties for a slider application. However, if you're not going to slide over rocks they are cool side steps.

Fuck It! I spent $2K on a lift, and bought 5 tires just one size up...and an extra matching wheel for the spare just for looks.

I bet close to half the people on here build super high dollar mall crawlers.

Just bought a set, figured I'd do it now in case some political bull shit would raise the price or possibly stop anything from shipping out of Canada.

I've had mine close to 2 years now. Like others noted aluminum is not a great choice if you will be purposefully hitting and sliding on rocks, but these have been perfect for my use because the only time they contact obstacles is unplanned and I don't hard core rock crawl. Having protection on the rocker panels and cab has definitely made mor bolder about wheeling still though, and effectively increased how much I'm willing to utilize my actual ground clearance.

I've dropped my truck onto rocks on accident a few times and scraped over stuff I didn't see, so they can take decent hits for sure. Clearance is about level with the bottom of the truck's frame, so while I technically have a bit less clearance under the cab it's no lower than the rest of the underside; side bonus is the sliders have given me a reference point for frame clearance I can easily view by looking out the window while driving over obstacles too. They work well as steps too, don't hang down as well as proper steps but that's the price of not losing ground clearance.

They also catch a lot of road debris and mud from the wheels (even with mud flaps), but the high quality powder coat has held up really well with only a few minor chips and being aluminum those aren't rusting. Greenlane also did a great job packing for shipping, and I had no damage on mine when they shipped to me.

Overall I've been very happy, and would definitely buy from Greenlane again if I'm in the market for aluminum parts, as they clearly know what they are doing.

They’re a perfect product for those of us who need something as insurance for oopsies on the way to camping/hiking spots, but aren’t actively seeking rocks.

I’d much rather put the payload hit of steel sliders into my camping/photo gear. And aluminum sliders let me have that insurance without putting my truck overweight. They’re a win-win.

I love my Greenlane sliders. They’re easily the highest quality aftermarket parts I’ve ever seen. The welds and powder coating put everyone else to shame. I fully plan on buying their stump bumper when I have the need to pull the trigger.

You got a side picture showing how far down they mount from the body?

I mean, they're just about as tucked up to the body as you can get. They have 12.5 degree angled up option as well.

    You're welcome!

Got shipping confirmation on the 8th, said they'd be here on the 11th. Not a chance in the world a massive box is gonna leave BC Canada, and arrive in Florida in 3 days. Boy was I surprised!

They almost pack them too good. It took almost as long to unbox them as it did to put them on. I watched the video of the dude putting them on. He clearly says he installed 5 bolts on the drivers side, but only put 4 in on the video. I drilled one hole thru the slider to get 5 bolts on the drivers side. Still not sure what to do with the brake lines that were clipped to the frame. Also on the video it showed him removing a electrical box on the passenger side. My truck didn't have one. Got 7 bolts on that side.

Was an easy job to do alone in my garage. I really like them!

You can very gently bend the brake lines to clear the bolts on the drivers side towards the front, they bend really easily by hand, and the last bolt on the driver side closet to the rear tire I put in backwards.
That's what I did on mine, I was able to get 4 bolts in along the side of the frame and one on the under side.

Though with yours being a long bed it might be different.
