At 2” lift and extended travel coilovers, do I need high articulation CVs?

There's more going on. You're the first person I've seen pulling cv's on 6112's. We need photos

Sorry TrakMotivePXL_20250412_170804822.jpg PXL_20250412_170809411.jpgso at full droop the upper tulit bearing would come out of the up like this. These CV's eliminate the tripod (tulip) bearings and use a slip yoke in the shaft. I haven't had the issue since. These joint do articulate more buy are slightly weaker. But unless Im are using to much gas with my front locker on I don't see me breaking them with 35's

I agree my case seems to be an abnormally. But I have seen "broken" CV's that are just dislocated and not actually broken. I also believe if I were to put my sway bar back in that may solve the problem.

Ah, okay I've seen those. Usually on 1st gens though.

I'd strap the front rather than put the sway bar back in. We need photos of your suspension set up with the truck on its own weight.

Very curious… what does a sway bar have to do with a CV axle coming out?

IMG_9347.png Even with my UCA becoming my limit strap
I never pulled a CV apart. Not sure how much more droop you can get if the UCA is hitting the spring.

The sway bar does limit front travel by connecting the driver and passenger side. My CV is only coming out at full droop. That is where it has the most travel meaning the CV is extended as long as it gets

And this is a 2 inch lift? For some reason it looks like it’s more. Especially with the CV angle where it’s at

You definitely need new springs. You shouldn't have contact like that. If you follow an ark your hub is actually coming back inward making the CV shorter.

This is interesting to me. Even before going long travel I've always hit bind at the uca ball joint before the cv's even came close to pulling. I don't see anything abnormal in those photos

I know man I looked at everything. Is this set up with a diff drop? I seriously thought my front diff had migrated to the driver side. ( I have only had this issue on the passenger side) But I checked that mounting location. And the frame for square. I have pushed this truck pretty hard. But everything as far as I can tell was true.

No, there’s no diff drop here. This TW member Is strictly against them. He sent me this photo in another thread

Did the diff roll out of level? I had it happen on a 1st gen. I was destroying passenger side CV's. Everything looked normal but I had bent the passenger side diff mount causing the diff to be out of level and higher on the passenger side. It was still centered. Being higher on that side caused the cv to bind and blow. I caught it after measuring from the floor to diff center line on both sides.
