To be honest, I’m not sure why alcan isn’t more popular even with the SUA crowd. My H70HD’s are cooked after 2 years. Planning to give alcan my money this time around. They are wayyyyy more willing to do custom work than Deaver as well.

exactly. my current pack is a full custom +200lb pack that I got second hand.
Thing is pretty sweet for not at all designed for what I’m doing.
Ideally it would be 1-1/.5” lower and a little lighter spring rate I think.

out out of a 10 leaf pack, what leaf could I try removing to get a little lower height/spring? If any?
I’d think the first non-main wrapping leave and keep the lower like 7 to keep some progression.

Mid pack or so is what worked for me when I needed less spring.

Not much benefit of a 14” shock on SOA. I’ve installed and ended up limiting the shock travel to gain lower clearance. All of the SOA leaf packs will cycle about the same, with some variation but your real limitation is up travel.

What shock are you planning on running?

100% setup your truck and weight it, then buy springs.
Alcan did a great job making mine after I sent them my weight and desired ride height.

When I did a trip out west in 2023 I had a chance to swing past Alcan's shop while on my way to Ouray and Lew the owner gave me the tour and showed me how everything was made. Pretty crazy to see the process and just what goes into a custom pack.

Lew himself has a 3rd Gen that was SOA when I saw it, but now I think it is SUA. So he's familiar and can build whatever you need, or update your existing Alcan pack if needed.

Hot day trip in Ococtillo....But...Suspension is getting better. Was a good day until I broke my Core support....Still, met some great people and had some good conversions and laughs.

Damn. I'm surprised you don't have a hole in the bed too.

As many dmz rears are out there how in the heck did that happen? Crack form through bolt hole?

7 years of abuse. I just changed the bushings in the shackles also.
I was going pretty hard through some deep ass whoops and was hearing “strange” noises.
Drove home (100 miles)the next morning welded it back on and was back in Ocotillo by 3:15. Granted I didn’t wheel as hard.

Welded back on and ready to go!

I couldn't make it, but a friend sent me this photo and info:

"Same attachments as OEM rack but it sits 3/4" higher for clearance. Fits to the same tie rods at same locations."

Neat! Looking forward to reviews from people once they’re in use.

    …and of course price.

Not sure. I was also confused by that. I'm guessing something was lost in translation.
