They have a little bike night around here sometimes(usually Tues or Thurs?). I swear I'm always working. I was able to go once last year. It was more HD/sportbikes/Slingshots. I don't consider a Slingshot a motorcycle simply b/c it has a steering wheel and not handlebars.

Slingshots are not motorcycles by any means.. it has full on car seats.

Finally got out today for a bit. We've had rain or shit weather here for over a week, so I haven't gotten out much this month. Will post pics tomorrow as I have a bunch of stuff around the house to get done yet today if possible. Rearranged my garage last week and found the Buell had a flat front tire. Reinflated it but noticed it's still going down as it sits. Got a look at it this morning and it needs the valve stem replaced. Once I go pick up a new valve stem, I'm going to try just breaking the bead loose on one side and see if I can swap it out without completely removing the tire from the rim.

Yesterday was the first time I got to ride in 10 days and for me that's a long streak for my bike being parked! Crappy weather, rain, and a few other issues conspired to put me in my Tacoma for more miles than normal so I was grateful to be able to get out finally and start bagging locations for the Team Strange grand tour. I'm riding in 2 separate tours again this year and have a good start on the GLMC event already. Team Strange doesn't start their event until April 1 so from now forward I'll be carrying 2 different event flags or placards. Team Strange has a history of making their tours more educational in theme and I've learned a lot by participating in their events since finding them in 2016-2017. It was through their events I learned about Whispering Giants.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trail_of_the_Whispering_Giants

    and the Merci Trains.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merci_Train

Ended up confused in their States of Confusion Tour.

And now this year I'm forced to study Shakespeare by finding locations related to places with the same name as locations Shakespeare used in his plays. Thankfully they did most of the work for us in that they provided a list of 147 possible locations he named in various plays. Not all names still exist and some may be found in the name of an existing place. Example, Ely was a name in one of the plays so Elysburg, PA will count. Any official sign listing a town, township, borough, county, state, or other census designated place counts. Once more my location in PA gives me a lot of available locations close to home. Rules indicate you must visit 12 locations to be a finisher. Locations have different point values which will be used to determine the overall winner. Exact match is worth 5 points, partial match is worth 1 point. Let's see how I did for my first ride.

Dover, PA is only about 20 minutes from my home and good for 5 points.

Dover Township, PA is 1/2 mile from the post office and since it has it's own sign another 5 points.

Rode about 20 minutes further to York New Salem a small town worth 1 point for York being part of the name.

West York Borough is 1 point. Might need to zoom in a little to read the sign on the door.

North York Boro is only a few miles away and 1 point for York being part of the name.

Of course all of these are in York County, PA so I'll get the full 5 points for York on this one. County courthouse.

Arden is a town name in one of the plays. It's found in the name of Spring Garden Township so 1 more point and I'm still inside the city of York.

Followed by 5 more points for York Township.

Decide to stretch my legs a little and head out of the city proper to Windsor, PA. 5 points for Windsor Township.

Then 5 more for Windsor Borough

Lower Windsor Township for 1 point

Small borough of Yorkana for 1 point

Then back through the actual city of York for 5 more points.

Finally the small town of York Haven, PA for 2 points as York and Haven were both Shakespearean locations and I had to question the value for this on with the rally master. I had hoped for 10 points.....

So at the end of my first trip on this tour I've visited 14 locations and by my count should have 43 points. Total mileage for all of this? A paltry 97 miles!

Finally got some seat time in this weekend, did take 2 tries though. 1st attempt I made it about 10 mins from the house before getting caught in a rain / hail storm - pretty short lived ride, I have zero gear for cold / wet. Following day after installing my coolant temp sensor managed to log some time just around town, not sure the hills / mountains are fully dry yet, probably much colder up there also.

Side note for KLX300 / KLX300SM owners, finally found a digital copy of the service manual. It's scanned page by page though, so no typical pdf experience - but better than nothing. Reddit link.

That's cool that it has the coverage over the shoulders/upper arms when inflated. Any would be an improvement over not having one in a crash. I'm happy to have the hi-viz, too. Personally, I prefer having it over the jacket, but that is different for everyone I'm sure. I also like that this is the manual one, so nothing to have to keep recharged. I just need to remember to disconnect it's tether each time I get off the bike, or POOF.

We rented one in Vegas. You couldn't hear shit from the speakers above like 35 or 40. Definitely agree, not a motorcycle. At least a can-am spyder/ryker has handlebars and a straddled seat. I would take one of those over a slingshot any day. We're actually thinking we might take the can-am sponsored MSF course up here this summer to get our 3 wheel license after we take our final class for endorsement on 2 wheels. Just so we have it, and to try out a spyder/ryker. They subsidize it, so it's supposed to be pretty cheap to take.

Here in Washington, they test for 3 wheeled rigs, such as a Side Car. separate requirement from the standard 2 wheel endorsement.

Yeah, I love getting actual rally flags. There's a bulkhead across the front of my garage that I hang all my flags from. You can see some of them in this pic. I actually have too many to fit anymore so I've started hanging them on walls where I have open space.

The one plus for the Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 Plasma is it can be used on the street or dirt.
