I have about 20% tread on my 265/75/16 toyo mt tires. I want to upgrade to the 285/75/16's. I have a friend who has the 285 km2's and he told me that they're a heavy tire. I really like my toyo tires, but I sorta want to try a different tire. Do the km2's come in a 10ply? Any thoughts?

from what i understand, the Toyo Open Country MTs are heavier than the KM2s

im on my second set of KM2s and they have been great for me in the desert...

The bfgs come in a 10ply. I have the 255 and love them. The toyos r pretty heavy. I think they might be heavier than the bfgs. The tire weight of the toyos r 68 lbs but not sure about the bfgs.

My buddy told me to get the 255's instead of the 285's because the 255's are a bit lighter? What is the difference between the 255 and 285 km2's?

Understanding tire sizes can be a complex subject. The short answer is that those numbers represent the width of the tire in millimeters.
A 255 mm wide tire translates to: 10.04 inches
A 285 mm wide tire translates to: 11.22 inches
