So I'm not trying to get banned or stir up old wounds, but does anybody remember what the standard SOS concepts rear bumper was rated for towing with granted? I know he didn't actually get it tested but does anybody have that figure?

 

with 1/4'' mounting plates and a halfway decent design, most aftermarket bumpers are going to be far stronger than what the frame and other towing related components (like brakes and suspension) will tolerate. in which case, i'd just stick to factory ratings.

 

No number really ever given because liability. Stick to stock numeros, for reasons Colin pointed out.

It'll definitely hold up to the stock numbers but when I had my taco I was towing a lot more then those numbers

Looking at updating my wife's vehicle. Anybody drove or owned any of the LX570's? She has the 2014 Sequoia Platinum... So maybe a 2018-2020 LX570.

 

Wife has the Land Cruiser version. 2017. She likes it a lot. People hate on the AHC but I think it would be super nice to have.

 

it was never officially rated. That's an expensive endeavor. Eddy told me 6k would be about the limit he would feel comfortable towing, which is much higher than my limit of comfort lol

 

How much do you want for the Sequoia?

 

They are incredibly nice, would recommend.

 

2016-2021 would all be that same body style.

I hang on on Ih8mud moreso nowadays and everyone loves the lx570 there.

Some purists who want the "badge" of the LC but personally if the LC had the AHC option it'd be dopeee

LX for me after 2016 got weird looking.

All that to say you cant go wrong. Find one with no rust and a good service history and you're gucci.

 

Platinum Sequoa has air ride with auto leveling and adjustable height... Comes in handy when I use it to beach launch jetskis in PA.

 

shidddd i'd just hang on to the Sequoia then.

At least wait til the economy crashes so you can get a good deal on an LX lol

 

Yea my next one will be an lx of some year just so I can have the AHC. i don’t know if it’s a huge ride difference but I’d like to find out haha. Almost found kind down here on marketplace for cheap but she was in a little too rough shape.
