Totaled?

But isn't that why it's an opinion? Now if people claim their uninformed opinion to be fact then it's another story. But I have been guilty of the same thing too from time to time. I do try to be sure that I either know what I'm talking about or research before posting before I make a factual statement.

 

I guess opinion isn't the right word. People give technical or legal advice on the internet based on hearsay or secondhand info. Gun and auto forums are the worst about it.

 

Opinion is often more important that fact. If I’m buying stock because I believe company A will have a favorable merge in the future then I’m good. If I purchase stock because I know for a fact Company A will have a favorable merge in the future then I’m a criminal.

If a doctor has an opinion on a diagnosis he’s a lot less liable to malpractice than if he gives you a guaranteed diagnosis.

I’ll stick with opinions as much as possible. However I’ll guarantee you this forum will either be correct or incorrect about OPs truck being totaled.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I’m pretty sure that’s not going to be totaled. Hard to tell with only one picture but it just doesn’t look like enough damage. Unless you have a kick ass insurance company, odds are they will be paying for the repairs

Glad everyone is ok. This looks similar to my 2018s damage and that was totaled.



I’m not an insurance expert - but I believe they use the salvage value to decide on totaling a vehicle and I think Tacomas get a lot at salvage making it cheaper for them to total it. I was going around 40 mph.

 

Not sure what you want an update on, but the original poster joined the day he posted this, never posted again and hasn’t logged on for 6.5 years, so I doubt you’ll get any answers

 

I was referring to the OP’s question of ‘totaled or not?’

Truck is likely somewhere one the other side of the planet with a DShK mounted on the back, child is likely in 1st grade.

 

OP was smart enough to use the accident as an excuse to get a 4Runner with a growing family!
