Hey guys - getting a rattle from what seems like the rear passenger seatbelt assembly area when I’m going over bumps - it sounds just like the seatbelt assembly components but even if I strap in the seatbelt or use that little clip it doesn’t stop. And of course I could not replicate it with a tech in the truck. Anyone have any idea what that is? It’s not the door trim issue - I had that and fixed it on the other side. It’s another sound.

Nobody even responded to this but I’ll put the solution in here. Taco Rancher Junior solved the mystery rattle!!!!! So, although it SOUNDS like the rear passenger seatbelt assembly it’s actually the latch for the middle/driver side rear seat backs in the CENTER. It’s the middle latch and it’s metal on metal, likely because the spring load on the latch is not tight enough. My son was jumping up and down in the back seat and was able to identify the issue — little genius! As a temporary solution we put a piece of napkin in there and it freaking worked. Will work a permanent solution later! This was such an annoying rattle. I may also ask toyota to fix it but don’t have much hope of that.

Same issue with mine, wrapped some electrical tape around the latch on the passenger side. Still getting a little noise, so I’m going to wrap the middle one today. Hopefully that will eliminate it.

I was thinking electrical tape as well. I slotted in a piece of a napkin and the sound went to nothing. How satisfying !

Cool - I wonder what tape will work best - maybe the fabric will be better and absorb that metal on metal sound better

A couple inches of electrical tape on the two seat latches has 100% eliminated the rattle. I’ve tested it blasting down country roads at my ranch. Silent. I hope this thread helps others having this annoying issue.

I finally wrapped my center one too and it completely eliminated that pesky rattle.

I got a rattle that’s driving me crazy, sounds like it’s coming from the driver side engine bay only when moving . Think it might be the hood support rod but not sure yet

Can you take a photo of what is rattling in the backseat? I’m not having any issues but in case for the future.

So, just to be clear, you’re talking about the levers behind the seat backs that allow them to fold down? That’s something that would not have happened if built at Tahara.

ive got a rattle that i can not find and is driving me crazy. it sounds more like a ticking noise that comes up when driving. ive taken all the doors off multiple times and sound deaden as much as possible. i can not find this ticking that sounds like the passenger door/seat area.

I had something similar. One of the wheel wheel flap buttons was loose. Check that.

So I can’t tell if it’s an assembly or design issue - but yes those levers are metal and latch onto metal - I guess they just aren’t tight enough and rattle over bumps- I put electrical tape and now silent
