My 83 year old father went to Walmart for one box of 12 gauge turkey loads . He has no criminal record and has a pistol permit . Background check says pending ,pending,pending for 25 minutes then comes back delayed . Walked out empty handed. Fuck you New York

 

Sweet RIS. Although I’d argue that MLOK would make for a much lighter front end build.

 

The ris II is only 1.17 oz heavier than the ris III mlok for the mk18 if we're trying to compare mlok versus quad on the same rails.

Obviously there are much lighter mlok rails in the market but that's not really apples to apples.

My 11.5 has a bcm mlok rail and is super light but an mk18 is ris II in my mind so that's why it's on there.

 

I ordered a handmade ammo holder for my .308 Win. The workshops are in Prague and Kyiv. The first order was lost by Ukrainian post so they had to make it again and resend it. Worth the wait. Now where are the zombie Elk hiding?

 

Felt cute. Might delete a terrorist later. So this rifle can now have with it a total of 18 extra rounds. 7 in this new leather pouch, 5 on the left side, and 6 on the right side. Not including a fully loaded ten round magazine and whatever may be chambered. Not much else I can or probably should do to this rifle. Color me pleased. And she shoots damn well.

 

Changed out the xmacro grip to this mirzon hybrid grip so I can use flush 12rd mags to print less when carrying but can still use my macro holster.



Saves a little on the grip length.

 

If we count 48 hours as business hours: Q Erector .22lr. Filed the form 4 papers Thursday at 5:15pm, came back approved at 7:22am Monday. Basically a 1 biz day turn time!

Gonna go pick it up later this week. Now if only Ruger 22/45s werent under our AWB rules because of the threaded barrel.

You think NY is fucked, you need a background check in California too, every single time I buy ammo. It gets better, there’s an 11% additional tax added on guns, parts and ammo. And you cannot legally bring ammo into the state from other states. It gets worse but I wont go into that.
I practice/train at the range twice a month. Go through 400++ rounds each time. My hobby is getting damn expensive.

 

So you can't even order Ammo and have it shipped to you?

 

If you order ammo it must be shipped to an ffl who is licensed to sell ammo in California. They of course charge for their services so it’s not cheaper to order it.
This of course is a very good law cause the bad guys can’t get ammo and our crime and murder rate is now almost zero.

 

And you’re pretty much at the mercy of whatever ammunition the gun store has, so good luck if you need something like 38 super or 10 mm.

I mostly just shoot 9 mm now.

I would argue that at least when you order ammo online you can order a bunch with the brand and caliber you like and at least be able to stock up on your favorite CCW ammunition because it’s damn near impossible to find it around here.

One gun shop was completely sold out and the other one just had RIP.

 

I have heard some people drive across the border to Nevada and load up on ammo at Cabelas. I would never advise anyone to do this, just saying. It’s only 2 hours from me but I of course would never do that.

 

Not going to like. Sorry to hear. Washington unfortunately is not far behind. We have several bills waiting to pass. Times have changed since I lived there. Eureka Ca on the coast in the Redwoods. Loved it…I’ll visit just won’t move back.
