I got Wordle in 4 this morning but when I got your post (I do Wordle before TW, sorry) I didn’t get the connection at first.

Okay, I can now say that today's Wordle word is in fact definitely relevant.

    Wordle 1,385 3/6

I’m no marine biologist (I had to look it up) but brine shrimp and the Wordle answer are not closely related. But as someone who resisted the temptation for a long time but has now become a Wordle addict, I enjoyed the reference. And I learned that the Mono Lake brine shrimp are unique to the lake. I don’t know about the flies …

True, they aren't closely related, but you can order the Wordle answer from Brine Shrimp Direct.

Do they do DoorDash? The pantry is empty and it’s time to start dinner planning.

F those dashers. Was standing in line for a sammich today when one got in line behind me. As they often do, he decided to cut in front of everyone, leading with his phone--cashier was taking an order and this kid is "do you have an order for" while shoving his phone in the poor dudes face.
I get it, he gets paid by the delivery but hey, not my fault. Wouldn't be so annoying except it's everywhere.

Taco place in Asheville is popular. Long lines are common.
A guy in front of me calls in an order and picks his order up before I get to the front to order.

The worst is that stupid pad device. It starts beeping and everyone in line suffers while they take care of that.

Sorry I brought up DoorDash. I’ve never used it, in fact I have probably had food delivered (meals only, NEVER groceries) about 5 times in my long life. Though I ordered something from Home Depot recently and it was delivered by DoorDash. I got a text telling me my Dasher would be at my house in 5 minutes. Being of a certain age I was confused; that’s a term I associate with Santa’s reindeer or the US name for what became the VW Passat back in the 70’s.

Rad area man. Thanks for not mentioning it. lol Was that recently?

As far as the mountains in the background go. Let's just say it's been a good early season so far.

I never mention this place. It's one of my favorite places. This was today hiking to a mine...bagged a peak a little while ago that I also won't name. My stepson found the Benchmark from 1948...pretty cool.

I was very close to there 2 weekends ago doing some bouldering.

Since you mentioned White Mt, let me run a really stupid pipe dream by you. A 14'er on each side of the valley in 24 hours. White Mt is the only option for the east side of the valley and Split Mt is the closest option for the west side of the valley. It would be about 30 miles of dirt driving , 20 miles of highway, about 30 miles of hiking including roughly 12K of elevation gain. It's sounds even stupider after I typed out that last sentence. lol

That would be an amazing trip. I've done the hike to the camp and it kicked my ass. I did the 10 mile hike to the goat canyon trestle several years ago and I was tired after that one. Can't imagine doing 30 miles and 12k elevation gain at 53.

At 51 I'm not far behind you. That said, I do live here and have started to get more into "endurance" hiking. While being fit is certainly part of it the bigger part is mental. It's basically how far can I push myself when I'm tired, hungry, head achey, and in general feeling like shit. To my surprise the answer is pretty far. I don't know why I like to suffer but I do. I can imagine and even prepare for 30+ miles. That 12K is where the true suffering is gonna come in though. lol
