Make them give you another truck. That is a total redo. In 2013 my brother bought a new Subaru Forrester that was a dealer transfer from Michigan. Apparently it had been damaged when somebody slung gravel all over the rear quarter and tail gate. He just brought it home and wanted me to see it all happy with his purchase but I burst his bubble when I noticed masking tape lines and paint haze where the paint had been feathered out half assed. All the dings were filled but poorly sanded.
Neither dealership would take responsibility for the damage or admit to even knowing it happened and then my brother took possession on to of it and didn't notice anything wrong until I saw it. I told him to just park it in the garage and try to work something out with the dealerships. They blew it off so I had him get corporate involved in New Jersey. After 3 months somebody there finally agreed to come out and see the car. They were pissed and he had another new Forrester in a couple days. Both dealerships had to explain how this could have happened in front of my brother. NEVER TAKE POCESSION of a vehicle unless you thoroughly inspect it first. If you don't know what to look for then take someone with you who does. Even if it is new.
My late uncle who was close to 90 thought he knew enough about cars and didn't want me to go look at a Chevrolet Uplander he was getting ready to buy at a Chevrolet dealership used for $8000. It had 81K and looked decent but the unibody was rotted so bad the back doors didn't open properly. It also needed an alignment that they charged him $1500 for. Again related to unibody rust. They never told him that. I don't know how they got away not disclosing that because after he died a year later we sold it for $2000 and had to disclose the rust issues. There are no honest car salesmen or dealerships including Toyota. I worked for several of them over the years. Stomp your feet and make a big noise.

They will just buy the truck back, they will never just replace it....
It will be on him to source another truck...
Personally been through this & personally helped 2 guys on this forum go through the process...

I looked at a 2025 silver trd or the other day. Just from a quick glimpse the paint looked off. I wonder if it's an issue with specific colors?

Wonder if it’s due to the specific color or if it’s related to which plant the truck is made at.

I dont think so, ive seen some really nicely painted silvers.....
Then ive seen a few that were blotchy, just like this.....
For whatever reason some of the toyota plants paint processes suck........

I have looked at mine with a very critical eye multiple times. Mine is fine. But, the example here is completely fucked and he deserves a new truck.

Never buy at night of in rain.

I looked at a silver sr5 that dealer was going to discount $5800, silver paint was flawless....
Just couldn't do it, I wanted what I wanted & silver wasnt it...
    I tried, just couldn't...

My 25 Celestial Silver TRD OR is fine...at least, in the sense that the color coat is laid down evenly. No stripes here.

I liked the way the dealership had it setup where I bought my truck, they had a well-lit section of the showroom for you to inspect the vehicle prior to starting the paperwork.

My neighbor came home with a silver off-road few nights ago…
I had no idea he was getting one, when I saw it in front of his garage, I approached him…
I put his foot in his mouth and beat him to the punch before he can get it out as he was trying to…
    blotchy silver…
I’m sure he will chime in with some pic…

My fiance and I bought a 2025 Tacoma TRD OR and noticed the paint looked different in our garage. This was not noticed the day we purchased it as it was a sunny day. What are the next steps to get Toyota to buy truck back?

If you don’t mind look on your drivers door jamb and tell me the plant where your truck was built? I’m thinking the paint issue is specific to one plant. I’m sorry you are having to deal with this I definitely would not settle for a repaint you bought a new truck not a repainted truck.

    Per the label it reads:
MFD. By Toyota Motor Manufacturing DE BAJA California 02/25

True. I'm not got to settle on having it repainted. What did you do to get this issue settled? Or are you still fighting it?

    Thanks

Thank you for the info! I currently have a 2023 CSM TRD Sport and I have been considering a 2025 in the same color so I’m trying to do a little research and hopefully not get one with the paint issues.

Interesting thing is my 2023 was built in De Baja California and it has perfect paint.

Before buying, I would have them pull the truck into the showroom so the paint problems could be seen.

Thanks, I will do that. I think I will look for one built at the Guanajuato plant unless someone chimes in with one built there with the same paint issues.

One would think after over a century of painting vehicles, they'd have it figured out by now.

Any update from Toyota? If you don’t mind which plant was your truck assembled at?

FYI, mine was built in Guacamole MX. or whatever it's called and my paint looks good but very thin clearcoat.
