Should be good in cotton; it's all I wear for grinding and/or welding cause it won't catch fire

It will burn though given enough sparks thrown at it but really it just gets slightly charred

It's synthetic material you don't want to be wearing cause that shit will easily melt onto your skin

 

I think I was cutting down on something right in front of me, sending the sparks right into to me. There were flames lol
Now I wear a ridiculous HF leather apron when the sparks are comin at me

 

Leather of course is a solid choice

Have yet to buy one, but it's the main reason why I opted for a leather stool

Sparks freaking flying everywhere

 

I haven’t ignited yet but do have a decent scorch or two… Amber maintains a dedicated garage clothes section of the closet for me so all good.

I saw those spindle reinforcements!!

 

Heavy duty canvas works good for lots of sparks. Or leather but that gets hot and heavy.
FR cloths works ok but you still burn holes through FR just doesn’t smolder like cotton

 

My cotton has outlasted my FR carhartt shirts

In fact, my longest lasting welding-specific hoodie is still good to go

A TW member sent it to me, dude had a YT channel and following and all

It didn't even light up when I cut shit with my mini cut off tool and that fucker throws TONS of sparks

 

Yeah FR is just for flames really. Doesn’t hold up with slag and sparks. Depends on the level of FR as well. Cat2 seems to hold up better than cat1.

 

My perfect welds don't need it either.... But all the other ones definitely do

 

Like the silky shirts they banned from the PX haha

 

Got the HF leather apron too haha.

Now I just need to figure out how to stop burning holes through my flip flops

 

In other news I have it on good authority @2RZNoShi1 will be risen from the dead

 

Oh man, those all got tossed right when I got out

I just loaded and unloading airplanes in a non deployable status within a non deployable unit.

Couldn't even go to the range or do swim qual

 

Fuuuck, I didn't know some units skipped those altogether

Swim qual I understand, but the range?

We had to do swim qual just for the indoc and again for leader's course

 

Someone got their money's worth out of their factory shocks

It wasn't a unit thing it was a limited duty thing. I broke my ankle in boot camp and waited until I hit the fleet to get it addressed like I was told and it killed my hopes of a career

 

You told me about having gotten hurt, didn't realize it occurred so early

I would've thought they would med-sep you since it was during boot

A guy I became friends with was separated after he developed a stress fracture in his femur during SOI

 

Happened in Pendleton on our way to stage for the crucible. Rolled my ankle with the main pack on going down that steep paved section by the armory. Brought some tears to my eyes but I stayed in step. After we got set up for the night I talked with a DI who recommended not having it looked at until after I hit the fleet so I wouldn't get dropped.
ended up rolling the same ankle with the main pack on again in MCT and got to ride in the 7ton for a 10k and got a lot of shit for that but still finished at the front of the pack during the 15k so haters can suck it.

That became part of the problem though because everyone kept accusing me of malingering so I was even more afraid of going to medical. when I finally did it required surgery which came with permanent nerve damage.

So I still got med-sep it just took a little under 3 years. I was pissed when it happened too because I wanted that good cookie to go with my fire watch ribbon
