I know that one all too well

Suck it up cause we're men; anything that resembles anything less than being bullet proof is a weak pathetic piece of shit

Least that's how we we're all taught :bananadead:

It's nothing compared to the help he's givin me I'm just glad it's working out. I also got spotted in the drive through by a semi local moderator so that was a good way to bring it up to them in a natural conversation

Spent most of my time being referred to as a broke dick probably didn't help.

But yet I still miss it and would do it all over again.

Brings me back to the recruiter statement earlier where so many people hate on their recruiters but they weren't the people I ever had issues with. They didn't force me to join I chose that shit willingly. I do find it ridiculous that the Recruiters Office would call the house phone looking to recruit my brother who was already stationed in Okinawa at the time

    Interesting

We never had recruiters call our home, and I think I only saw them once at our HS

I too joined willingly even after my dad opposed

I remember getting into it with my dad when I turned 18 because he said I needed to register for the draft. The draft offices closed in January of 73. He couldn't believe it and called to verify himself. Many of my buddies joined the Navy. Some joined the AF and went to Europe. I should have joined the AF and made a career of it. I like to travel and pick up new languages easily. The world was a peaceful place from 73 until 79 (Iran).

Only other kid from my high school class that joined tried to off himself and ended up sleeping in a bed right in front of the duty hut for a while before he got sent home. Dude was very fit and a crazy fast runner so everyone thought he'd do great

That's what I find hilarious when people make these assumptions based on size, etc

Our platoon guide was fit as hell and the dude's MOS was later found out - reservist bulk fuel specialist

Talk about a bitch MOS

We did have a guy die or almost die in another platoon (but in our company or however they called it)

We were platoon 1079, they were 1077 or 1078

Dude over hydrated on one of our big runs and ended up passing out

Body pushed out all those electrolytes

Company would be correct. Can't forget to make your ghetto aid by mixing salt and sugar packets into the canteen!

I thought I was being sneaky once in boot camp and hid a sealed packet of instant coffee from an MRE in my canteen, the next time we filled them up I had forgotten all about it and was really confused by the brown water coming out the top of my canteen and just thought we were about to drink nasty dirty water. Was a pleasant surprise when it was just coffee haha
