I know! I got to see a few of these train cars and to read some of the stories about "gifts" sent to the US from French citizens as a way to thank US citizens and soldiers for their help is in some cases heartbreaking. One story that I will never forget was a French woman was engaged to be married and had her gown when her fiancee was killed in the war. She donated her unused wedding gown with a note asking that it be worn by a woman who was marrying a US soldier who had fought in the war and helped free her country.

Please, take the time to visit that museum and take pictures to post here.

Anyone messed with the power commander software before? My 701 came with one that has a Rottweiler power and mpg tunes on it, but it just feels rich on half the power band and bogs. I'm wondering if it was a sea level tune, and at 2500' it's running out of trim room on the ECU? AFAIK it doesn't have the wideband auto tune stuff.

Well crap,, lol I sold some tools and such that were in my garage I wasn’t using. I have money burning a hole in my pocket so I have made an order for a koso 4v 170cc BBk for the monkey!!
That should really make this monkey move!
It will most likely be a next winter project.

It comes with 4v head , piston, cylinder, cam, manifold, gaskets and bearings.
Yes I have the oil cooler, high flow oil pump, 150cc injector, aRacer with auto tune.
Here is a pic from the website with everything that comes in the kit. I am also going to upgrade the cam chain tensioner and looking into the koso 34mm throttle body and manifold.

I've been reading up on this guy lately. 2025 Honda NT1100. What do you all think? Obviously it's only DCT this year, and no electronic suspension, (both of which I'm good with) but I think it's a pretty cool option for those who want a little lower seat height and don't need the offroad ability of the Africa Twin. I searched in here and a couple of you looked interested back in 2023, noting it wasn't available here in the US. As much as I'd love to think I'd one day be offroading an adventure bike, I think I'm more likely to buy a CRF300L/LS for that duty.

I've only read about them, but they seem to be loved in countries that have had them. I like the thought of DCT, but no experience with it at all.

First units supposedly hitting the floor in May. I'm not about to get rid of my CB500X, but I could definitely see the NT as my favored upgrade after I have a couple years riding under my belt.

I'm at the point with my 300 Rally that I'll have to keep it. My Rally Raid rear shock is out for delivery now. Next up with be RR front cartridges and Arie Henning 301 kit. I will probably build the rear gold wheel before starting those upgrades though

My buddy was waiting for the NT1100 and gave up, bought a goldwing.

He adores blue, and this came out. He is furious. Does tons of riding and would have likely got the NT

I like it, it suits my needs. But the price of reserving a bike is bonkers.

Wife and I have talked about downsizing, and getting rid of our SxS. She'd keep her Utility quad, and I'd get ... something. Thinking a CRF300 would be fun. One of these days I'll see one at a dealer and hop on. I'm curious if I'd want the low seat or the standard height version. I'll find out some day.

Yeah, no way I'd pay any amount over MSRP or want to deal with that crap. While I prefer buying new (for everything), I lucked out on my current bike used. Hopefully in a couple years might be some inventory, or a reasonable deal used. I'm really looking forward to reading some real world reviews here on the US model. I've watched some Europe ones, but almost all are the Electronic Suspension version.

I'm pushing 5'6", so I had to lower my Rally and even bought the level 1 shock. I have never seen a LS in person but would like to sit on one. I think a little 300LS with the 550/301/RR mods would be a great little Sumo bike :D

Ramble warning with not much structure:

I was looking at that yesterday. On paper I love the idea of it, a cheaper less frills entry into the sport adventure tourer segment (a la Multistrada, GSX S1000GX+, S1000XR, Tracer 9, Super Ten, etc..).

Now with that being said.. I'm not sure DCT-only is the right look, I think a lot of folks looking at that segment will still want to row their own gears, and I'm not sure it's "fancy" enough to win over a lot of shoppers in that segment. Shock adjustments are pre-load only, not electronic, it does have carplay, woo. Panniers aren't included, that's an extra grand, or $1500 if you want a top box, too.

Tracer 9 is less power, but a triple and overall better equipped for about the same price once you add in panniers
S1000GX+ is more power, WAY more electronic features and suspension, but is $5K++ more
The rest are way over in budget

So I guess if you want sport tourer on a budget and really are looking for DCT it makes sense?

I'm 5'6" on my driver's license. But I'd need to round down if I wasn't wearing shoes, lol. Seat height on the 300 standard height (non-rally) appears to be about the same as my sister's old TTR230 (ttr is .4 inch shorter). That height felt comfortable for me.
