Hey everyone! Hoping I can kindly tap into the collective TW knowledge base for perhaps a bit of an edge case scenario.

Have a 2018 TRD OR with only 24K miles on it. Outside of doing oil changes every 12 months (never hit mileage), rotating/new tires, and replacing battery, I've had nothing done. I know the maintenance guide specifies by both mileage and time for some things, but only mileage for others.

Dropped off at dealership tonight to get the stoplight cab leak service bulletin done before it ends soon. I'm sure I'll get a bunch of recommendations for things to do, and likely legitimately need some done based on age not mileage.

So, what are your thoughts on fluids that need to be replaced/flushed, or other services that need to be done on a nearly 7 year old taco with only 24K miles.

Some that come to mind as possible for me below, but not necessarily by the dealership:
    - Brake fluid
    - Transfer case
    - Front and rear diff
    - Power steering
    - Others?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

You are at a point where I would change all the fluids especially the brake - it absorbes water over time and rusts the system from the inside out.

Equally important is the coolant, it is the only thing that is protecting the head gaskets and the corrosion inhibitors wear out over time.

Most of the items you can do yourself if you are handy and have a few tools.

I might be wrong but I think oil change is every 6 month not 12. Full year with same oil sounds wrong

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking given the age. Thanks for your thoughts.

Mine is every 10K miles / 12 months, normal service schedule per manual.

With the age of your truck I would change all fluids.

coolant $40 (oem SLLC or valvoline zerex asian coolant, approximately 2 gallons, 3 if you're sloppy)
power steering fluid ($20 Valvoline dexron 3 atf, 3 quarts for a full flush)
brake fluid ($20 valvoline dot 3&4)
front diff, rear diff, ($150 ish 7 quarts (amsoil 75w-85)
serpentine belt (BANDO 7PK2120, $17 on rockauto)
spark plugs (usually loose from the factory and lean on passengers side) $120 ish.

All that for around $400 if you do the work yourself.

Agree with everything but the plugs. No need to change them at such a low mileage. However I had not heard of the loose plug issue so I guess I’m checking that now.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate your input. I'm going to change out the fluids over the next couple weeks. Most seem relatively easy DIY, especially with all the great resources and videos in this forum.
