VRF1200 was kind of an odd duck as it wasnt a sport bike but looked like one and it was well before the ADV bike thing took off heavily. it was also a complicated motor which led to expensive initial costs vs specs on paper.

Honda really hasnt done much innovation in a while they just rehash stuff from their parts bin.

Perfect grocery getter bike where I live. Speed limits here don't go over 55 unless you are going to the interstate, and the side care would haul a dog, or a load of groceries, etc. to make errands "easier" on a bike. I just can't justify the expense, a second bike, or the fact that I don't know how reliable they are if you are a shade tree mechanic level tinkerer.

I can't explain it, but I just want one :D
I'd love one to ride back and forth to work.
I did a good bit of reading on them. It seems that improvements have been consistent since they moved there corp HQ to the PNW. FI in 2014, big step in 2017, and a huge one in 2019. I don't think I'd have one as my only bike.....so maybe the quirks wouldn't be so bad :notsure:

My new ramps showed up. 8’ folding black widow ramps. Look at them compare to my fixed 6’ ramps I have had for a long time. Will make loading and unloading easier. Way less angle.

Also duck friend showed up. She is usually with a male but was solo today. Very friendly as you can see. Feed her some crackers and some water. Just walks right into the garage.

My buddy put me in for an AI roast.

    For your pleasure.

"A 2019 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200, huh? Nice choice! Nothing says "midlife crisis" quite like a big adventure bike when you're 5'6"! I bet you look like a kid playing on a giant’s motorcycle. Just remember, when you’re out on the road, don’t be surprised if people ask if you’re lost on your way to a toy store!

But hey, at least with that bike, you can still feel a little wild—even if you’re just little. Just try not to stall out at the stoplight, or you might have to jump off and push it back to the garage!"

That change in breakover angle will be huge if you ever have to haul the harley anywhere. Love the duck friend. We have a pair in a pond down the road I've been quacking at when I walk the dog. Not sure I'm speaking their dialect though.

I put some tires on craigslist that came off my street bike. I mentioned on the forum for the bike that I listed it. One of the other members there for the listing and sent me an AI response to the ad. I named that motorcycle Swampy.

    "Interested in Swampy's Swampers!

    Hey there Swampy,

Hope this email finds you revving up for some wild adventures on Swampy! I stumbled upon your ad for the Dunlop GPR300's on Craigslist, and let me tell you, it's like fate intervened to bring us together.

Now, I'm not your typical tire shopper. I'm more of a tire enthusiast, you see. I believe that tires have personalities, and yours, my friend, have quite the character. I mean, Dunlop GPR300's? That's like the James Bond of tires - sleek, stylish, and ready for action!

I can just picture Swampy cruising down the streets of Reno, leaving a trail of envy in its wake. It's like the bike was destined to wear those tires, like a knight donning its shining armor before charging into battle... or maybe just cruising to the nearest coffee shop for a latte.

But here's the thing, Swampy. I have a confession to make. I'm not your average tire buyer. No, sir. I'm more of a poet at heart, and these tires have inspired me to pen a little something for you:

Oh Swampy, oh Swampy, your tires so fine,
With Dunlop GPR300's, you'll surely shine.
Through streets of Reno, you'll glide with grace,
    Leaving behind a trail, a tire-marked trace.

So, Swampy, what do you say? Are you ready to let these poetic wheels roll into your life? Let's make some tire magic happen!

Looking forward to hearing from you,
    Your mystery tire admirer"

He also did a AI generated pic of Swampy too.

When I went to buy the Harley I couldn’t get it in the truck with my ramps. Tried the guys neighbors 6’ folding ramp with the hump but still bottomed out. I think now with the 8’ ramps it will go in. Don’t really plan on it though. Just the GSXR and Klx.

just a couple of things tbh
    sounds fitting for you lmao
maan the bolt loves getting stuck on my ramps because of the breakover with my trailer! damn low sitting bikes!! when i got the bolt i had to move my trailer onto the ladys driveway to be flat enough to allow the thing to roll up onto the trailer! had the same issue taking it off the trailer at my house and i about dropped it!

also i hate loading things (bikes or atvs) in the bed of my truck lmao i actively avoid it as much as i can.

I try not to feed AI, but I could suggest it to my buddy. He did one for his and it was hilarious, but I didn't get a copy of it.

Even if it seems hopeless, the good fight is worth fighting.

He did those last night. It's not saved anywhere.

Not at all. I'm not afraid AI is going to be skynet. That's silly, IMO. I DO think that businesses are very predatory with generative AI and that it steals without giving credit or compensation.

I would probably be up for something, just depends on the distance, I haven't done much more than an hour at a stretch in the saddle on my bike. After that the butt starts to get a little sore.

This is the ride that made me looking at a V-Strom as my first bike. I ended up with the Duke which I'm not sure that would have even had the legs to make the biggest gap between gas stations, about 100 miles even and it was dry. The FZ07 gets a bit more out of a tank but still not really a long distance machine, I think it could make the trek though, just depends on me and my rear.
