Well I finally got around to finishing the Dana 300 shifters. The levers are just tacked on as I'm just guessing where it's going to come through the floor.

I got the rear spring perches cleaned up, made up some 3/16 thick shock tabs. Don't know if I'll use them. They look kind of funny. And also got the u-joint u-bolt kit for the Dana 60 which is going to bolt right up to a 1330 u-joint. So same as the 2nd gen Tacoma drive shaft.

Just trying to detail things for my own memory.

1978 GM 14 bolt dual rear wheel axle
U bolts are three and a quarter inside diameter
5/8 thick 10 in Long. 5 in of thread

    1990 Dodge w250 Dana 60
One u-bolt 4 in wide 9 in Long 5. In of thread two studs bolt the u-bolt plate down onto the axle right side
Left side u-bolts 3 in wide 10 in Long 5. In of thread
Also some shackles for the front. It's going to look funny under the radiator.

I got off to a good start making a bolt on front leaf spring mount. I want to keep the arb so working around it. the metal I'm using has been sitting in my garage for at min 12 years. My new thing is anything sitting for a long time has to be used up.

Tons of work going on over there, the end product going to be quite the rig

I love this idea, I need to start implementing it now, and not waiting......12..... years to let things pile up :annoyed:

Is this going on the bottom crossmember just below where the bumper mounts up?

So you are doing a SAS on leafs? I wouldnt bolt that to that stock hanging down crossmember. Its not very thick and its cantilevered way out. And you are going to be hitting those front mounts on everything and anything possible. Id do a crossmember chop then mount the hangers 4" higher and a more rigid spot too.

The vertical spots on that crossmember aint very thick(0.100" according to this cad file). I will admit I do not know a ton about running leafs up front but I think mounting a suspension mounting component to anything less than 1/8 sounds like a bad idea especially with how it kinda just dangles down there.

You have a welder, could just cut up the arb a little bit

yea when i was looking at the truck i seen how thin those pieces are... I'm going with the wrong front axle, the wrong suspension set up and looks like the wrong mounting points. at this point its not looking very good especially if i cut off the front suspension. A Hail Mary comes to mind, and thank you food for thought for sure.
