Well I'm tickled. Turned out great and honestly didn't take long. Main plate was about 3.5 hours, black was about an hour, and the other two were 20 minutes and 8 minutes.

Just waiting on heat inserts now to be able to screw it all together and put the pi in. Should be here Tuesday.

Simple solution for annoying issue for those with aftermarket bumpers and bright blinding ELD lights. 3D printer to the rescue IMG_7136.jpg IMG_7137.jpg

More progress on the full scale 1:1 scale B1 Battle Droid....

Lots and LOTS of primed Droid parts. Just this amount of parts took 4 cans of high build auto primer.
After these parts cure and I pick up some more primer filler, I'll press on with the shoulders arms, hands, backpack, binocs and E-5 blaster

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Remember this? Well, I bought some .2 nozzles and tried it again. Printed with the text on the vertical, then turned the object 90* and printed again. Both turned out probably as good as I can expect for text this small.

    Looks familiar!

I machined out of a SS bracket before I had my A1. Have you routed the power to the mount yet?

I ran the power over the gauge cluster and down to the fuse tap.( much less time working from floorboards)

Hey 3d print gang, I’m trying to dip my toes into the hobby. I designed a little convenience part for my race car (tire pressure gauge and marker holder that clamps to the cage) and was wondering if yall would be willing to look it over and tell me what will cause problems with getting it printed.

I plan to fillet everything out (now that I learned why you always leave filleting for the end of a fusion project) and use threaded inserts in the screw holes. I think ABS will be best (no fuel exposure but lots of vibration and heat inside).

just trying to get some thoughts before I send it to a print farm.

    thanks!

Can you specify wall thickness with the print on demand folks you're using? That's the biggest problem with inserts is when the walls are too thin.

I was thinking of just doing it as solid so maybe I’ll expand it out to provide 1/8” or so to the insert I suppose

That's a lot of multi board that isn't being used. Is that the newer flush mounting option?

Yeah I wanted the whole underside ready for whatever only using the pieces that currently have looks half done. Call it OCD or whatever lol.

It's the standard boards with wood screws on the 4 corners of each panel.
